Description
Rocket stuck in launch procedure

What is your game version?
227.923

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I have a rocket that is fully fueled and ready to go to earth but it will not launch.

The launching procedure of the rocket is stuck. It says "Take off in progress" and its been like that for several sols.

I have included a save game with the rocket being stuck. I do not have a save game prior to that.

Can you replicate the issue?
No. It only happened in that particular game.

Hi! I have the same issue

I have a rocket stuck on the ground of mars.
It was dedicated to automated rare metal exports, and it's full of rare metals and fuel.
Impossible to destruct it (it's in "export" status so, the button isn't there and not selectable via building menu destruct fonction).
I also tried to stop the auto export function, rename it, press the launch button...
for information, it was controlling 30 drones, so I tried it with no drone control... no effect

Same issue. I have 2 rockets that are stuck. There's something wrong with the automatic launch function.

Also I noticed when a rocket was in automatic launch mode, every so often the rocket will disappear and then suddenly land again. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but it might help.

I also have this issue, it has happened twice now on two different saves with no drones attached. I don't remember if this was true with the first one, but the second was on Auto mode. I also recently had a dust storm, so it's possible it tried to launch during the storm and got stuck (not 100% sure).

The 2 Paradox devs on the livestream said they're aware of it but it sounds like they're still working on the mac / linux issues so no idea when a fix will be available. Oh well, just don't use the auto launch.

FOUND A WORKAROUND:

after some testing i could confirm how this bug is caused:

if a rocket is traveling from earth towards mars when a dust storm is going on and the rocket is set on automatic mode, the following will happen:
as soon as the dust storm ends, the rocket will instantly arrive at mars even if it just had departed from earth literally 1 second ago.
from this point on the rocket will be bugged and get stuck in "take-off in progress" as soon as you try to launch it, be it automatic or not.

how to deal with it:
everytime a dust storm is about to end, check for rockets currently on their way from earth to mars. disable automatic mode on these. land them manually as they arrive.
as soon as they have finished landing you can set them on automatic again and they will launch without issues.

np.

edit: spread the word pls, i'm pretty sure this will help a lot of players since that bug is pretty annoying, to say the least.

YES, this bug is unmotivating to move on the rest of the game. I've even deleted my old game where the bug appeared, started over and it happened again. My ship was full of exports and was set on automatic to launch, and it just gets stuck in launch in progress. I tried every sort of way 'all the things listed in the above posts' and it won't launch at all. Please fix this, honestly cant be bothered moving on with the game until I can get past this. Thanks, really am loving this game, huge shame this has kinda stumped me.

Windows 10, latest version.

I have a related issue. The rocket never unloaded passengers and has remained in the "unloading cargo" state ever since it landed. This means it could never refuel. To make matters worse, it seems to be "consuming" drones. Perhaps when they attempt to board it. I guess these is a some kind of terrain issue preventing the passengers leaving that also traps drones. That's speculative of course.

If it can help, at the same time, I got a broken drone, that I could not locate on the map (info from the drone hub). Mayb the broken drone is inside the rocket ? Preventing full launch ?

I too have had a similar issue with missing drones and an auto-rocket getting stuck after a dust storm.

However i was able to reload a save from 5 sols earlier and allowed my game to run to the same point and the rocket continued on its return trip as normal.

My colony was failing due to not maintaining anyhing for the duration, after a another restart from the same place the rocket failed again in the same place preparing for takeoff. (On auto)
