Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I am not using any mods and the game rarely crashed before Green Planet. Now, whenever something happens, eg. a building is complete, I turn on/off something, drones start constructing, an anomaly is scanned, the game is prone to crashing without warning. I'm running Mojave on a 21.5" 2017 iMac with Core i5 @ 3.4Ghz and 8GB RAM. This happens both in new games as well as pre-expansion saves.

Can you replicate the issue?
I interact with anything in the game or an event occurs such as listed above and the game would crash. I am now saving frequently to minimize losses and crashes seem to happen around 20-30 minutes after loading any map to play on.

Here are some crash reports that might help find the issue.

Crash 1 happened right when I clicked to set the Unload point for a transport drone.
Crash 2 happened after ~10 minutes of gameplay.
Crash 3 happened after almost an hour of gameplay when I ordered an explorer drone to analyze an anomaly.
Crash 4 happened when I clicked Launch for an empty cargo rocket on the Resupply screen.
Crash 5 happened as the game was manually saving.
Crash 6 happened during autosave.
Crash 7 happened after ~15 minutes of gameplay.
Crash 8 happened after ~2 minutes of gameplay exactly when a rocket carrying rare metals returned to Earth.
Crash 9 happened when I clicked "OK" to send a rocket on the mission to nuke the caps.

Just an update on this issue
I completely reinstalled the game (Uninstall from Steam and deleted the ~/Library/Application Support/Surviving Mars folder), started a new game with the Terraforming Initiative but did not order a dozer drone or build/research any terraforming tech so far and the games hasn't crashed in 2 hours now at Sol 30.
Before anyone tries this, make sure to back up your savegames from the above-mentioned folder because in my case the new saves since Green Planet failed to upload to the Steam cloud and were lost.
I'll continue playing, do some terraforming and see if the crashes have stopped for good. :)

It might be enough to just delete the "cache" folder and the "LocalStorage.lua" file...

EDIT: The game still crashed but only after around an hour of gameplay when I ordered an explorer drone to scan an anomaly. :( (strange that I can't upload the .crash file here)

You'll see many other threads on crashes on Mac, it will need a patch I'm afraid. Sorry about that!

Zip it and you should be okay, unless it is still too large.

After around 3 days of playing since the complete reinstall the game has crashed much less, on average after 1 hour of gameplay even in saves with large colonies, and even then its less segmentation faults but more render crashes. Attached are a bunched of crash reports.
I tried turning off Steam cloud sync but didn't see any difference in the frequency of crashes.
Love the expansion regardless :)
