Game Freeze during 'The Last War' scenario

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Shortly after receiving the message that comes when War Tension reaches 30%, the game does what I kinda feel is a soft freeze. I have a starvation situation going on in the colony, which spirals right as the game freezes. The freeze also happens right around the time I get the "500 Colonists" milestone. There are enough things going on at once that I don't know which issue is causing the freeze.
Can you replicate the issue?
I've been able to replicate the issue three times at this point. Two with the "Research Progress Bar on HUD" mod on, and one without it.
