Game becomes unresponsive under certain circumstances

What is your game version?

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
There may be multiple actions in game that may make the game unresponsive. Most notably is while viewing the RC Rover deploying it's drones I have update my video graphics driver and java version but doesn't help. I also re-installed the game and retarted my computer multiple times.

Can you replicate the issue?
Whenever re-deploying drones from the RC Rover. it causes the game to become unresponsive. UI and game simulation stop, panning around map is still possible I've used multiple saves all with the same result. This did not happen before today.

Well, even alt-f4 doesn't close it. I got to do ctrl-alt-delete and kill the task.

Well, unfortunately SM likes to keep most of the log in memory till quit/some crashes (obviously it doesn't always work), so nothing useful there.

Got a list of mods (if any) that you have enabled?

Edit. I did have an unexpected powerdown of my computer(turned off computer power).
What doesn't make sense is that it would corrupt multiple files or any files once they're loaded.
I have to saves that are working, will update if they crash also.
The UI seems very slugish though, if you give it to many commands to quickly, you can get stuck in menus you can't select buttons.

I've got the same problem with one difference: I think in my case the RC rover is not responsible for the issue because it's not doing anything when the game "stops".
But the described problems fit to 100%
When I load my savegame i can do something for about 2-5 minutes, then the game gets stuck. I can move the camera, but interacting, scrolling and the movement of e.g. the rovers, buildings etc. has stopped.

I am using these mods:
- Easier money and research
- Automated Mines
- ESA Logo
- Advanced Resources Depots (in the beginning disabled, now removed)
- More Breakthrough's (Balanced)
- Info Bar (in the beginning disabled, now removed)
- AutoHelpRover
- Drones Fix Leaks Faster
- Advanced Solar & Turbines
- Large Covered Depot
- AutoExplore
- AutoGatherTransport

I can repro this issue 100%. Attached is my game save (a game started before the Curiosity patch). Choose the RC Rover and tell it to move to the large water tank, or somewhere in that area. After the RC Rover stops, the game hangs.

Yep, that's an inf loop :)

@Treeminer_96 If I remove all the drones from your rover it happens.
@CoffeeIsLife If I add some prefabs then add a drone to your rover it happens.

So it seems to be something to do with drone amount, that they changed in the new update?

I've added the fix to ECM v5.2 (you'll need to restart the game after updating/installing it to make sure the fix is applied).

Edit: Just wanted to mention, it fixes the issue for both your saves.

Yeah, you need to restart it for it to apply the fix (it's just how I load the options).

If for some reason it still doesn't work, then check profile (folder with mods folder in it) \ CheatMenuModSettings.lua for RoverInfiniteLoopCuriosity = true

I checked the lua-file, RoverInfiniteLoopCuriosity = true, and I restarted the game after activation...still hangs up :/
I don't know if it's important, but does the game usually says it requires a restart after (de-)activation of a mod? Because that did not happen, I always restarted manually by quitting the game and restarting it.

Yeah, my bad, looks like yours is being caused by a mod (for some reason I got it to freeze by messing around with your rover, so I figured same issue). Probably needs to be updated for Curiosity.
