What is your game version?
Curiosity Hotfix 2

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
During the mystery St.Elmo's Fire a crater "mutated" into a dome of medium size (see screenshot). Although the UI still tells me that it is still considered a crater when I click on the object. So maybe it is more precise to call it a graphical glitch than a bug. However, I don't know whether this "mutated" crater is still functional regarding the mystery.

I haven't seen how this happened during gameplay (I had 5x game speed at that time) so I'm not 100% sure what was the cause.

Maybe the crater was hit by a meteor, but that is just my conjecture.

Can you replicate the issue?
I don't think so.
