Surname issue in Create a ruler

Sorry if this has been asked before, i cant seem to find a solution for it.

There seem to be an issue when you create a ruler that children born of that ruler get wierd surnames which is the first name on the father followed by son or daughter?

Its been a while now it seem to be an issue and im up to date with expansions, is there anything i can do to fix this?

Probably working as designed, depending on culture.

That is a Patronymic, mouse over their name and they should have a First Name, Patronymic, and Surname

I'm pretty sure this is a culture thing. My irish sons are derp mac derp and my english sons are derp derpson

it also depends on the culture, you wouldn't have a Patronym for French German, or Italian, but others it's possible who did you play as?
