Supplying amphibious invasions

When launching an amphibious invasion I have seen my forces lose their organization and fighting effectivness because they got out of supply from the moment they stepped on the enemy beach. Any thoughts on how to keep your units supplied in such operations? I've tried air supply with transports, but it is very poor.

imho troops when landed from a tp takes some supplies that are enough for few days. Also if you micro manage convoys you can get extrta supplies the next day.
