I didn't find a thread about this particular topic, only mutterings in other threads so I decided to post one up.

The annoying problem of supply in my opinion comes along two main lines.

1. A nation hosting guest allied troops on his territory must now supply those troops. It can cause some really retarded things to occur like screwing up the IC allocation for supplies.

2. Along those same lines, you cannot get supplies to cross allied territory, any provinces that get cut off due to liberation events or whatnought can wreak havoc on your supply lines. Creates strange situations where you won't even liberate to create a puppet government and save TC costs just because you need to trace a line of supply.

I don't know what is feasible within a patch to fix the easiest way mentioned by many people is simply allow supplying through allied territories

You're quite right about this. I'm still struggling with this "supply-line" business. I conquerend Poland and puppeted it afterwards, thus making it a true ally, it lowered my belligerence, and they give me plenty of stuff for free.
BUT, my supply lines apparantely can't go through Poland, wreaking havoc on my troops fighting in Russia. Apparently the navy, the convois, had to make a depot in Königsberg, but the supplies there run faster out than they can re-supply.
So they deliver 80 supplies per shipment, that'll last for about 5-6 hours, after that all my troops East of Poland are out of supply again.
I don't understand this, why can my troops pass through Polish territory, but my supply trucks, boats, whatever, can't??
I allied countries southern of Poland to see if that worked. Invested a lot of money to make them my allies, and I can see with the "supply" hot button that Poland, Hungary, whatnot, are *all* in supply. But as soon as Königsberg runs out of supplies.... presto, all of my troops Eastern of Poland have to throw sticks and stones at the russians again ....
