I have a question about supply.

I am curently in a game as the USA. I have enough transports to fill convoys and then some. What I am seeing is under normal circumstances my required supply is 15-17 IC. It will jump up to 52 normally. But I am seeing these wild jumps to 250-350 that last for several days.

I am not using combat supply to track down the whos, whats and whys of this massive jump. But I am perplexed as the what is causing the massive jump in needed supplies.

This is not a issue of new builds drawing supplies this is a regular occurence 1-2 times a month. When it happens I have checked my transports and have several hundred in reserve.

Any ideals of what to look for? I am doing something wrong.

The jump is caused by the fact there is alot of supplies being transported to overseas to supply your troops. What is the size of your army overall?

Those supply jumps happen to all nations with troops abroad (meaning overseas). From time to time the supply depots get fueled up.

The REAL downside of those supply up's and down's: You loose the gearing bonus for your production lines if you haven't the IC to produce continually

You should think about using the advanced sliders - they automatically target the average consumtion instead of only the current and also target a reserve stock depending on the total unit supplies. So no more going into the red because of thinking "500 supplies is enough".. (thats basically the stock of 10 BBs), and much less variation is supply production, as soon as you are above the minimum stock (as it can eat off the stock without worrying that it will go into the red).
