Beacon of Infinity has achieved ascended form.

The star became a black hole, with no news about it. I randomly went to check and noticed all the tomb worlds.

I wonder if stars can randomly go supernova during the game? Some of the Leviathans do alter a star system's configuration, it's not something I'd rule out, just that I've never witnessed such an event of a star dying, even after 300 hours! :O

It didn't seem to affect my vassal one bit, they're still the 2nd strongest empire in the galaxy. Their buildings are fine and dandy, and no pops died. I'm not sure about their fleet, maybe it would've been unaffected too, but they were busy waging war someplace else.

Also previously uninhabitable Ring Sections became size 12 usable Tomb Worlds, with no raw resource on them. Nice.

I wonder what causes this. Pure chance or an event?

That event didn't happen to me yet, but if Horizon has a chance to cause that, I guess it explains some other crazy black holes with habitable worlds I encountered.

So much for being a loving, caring liege. Someone loved them even more. :(

I had the same thing on a ringworld.

This is just the result of the Horizon Signal event.
The truth is, all ringworlds segments are nothing less than a type of planet. If there is an event who changes the planet type of a segment, the segment changes, independently of the the ringworld.
In that case, the HS event changes all segments of the system into tomb worlds, and the pop's habitability is adapted to tomb worlds too.
