There are multiple techs in the Superior Firepower Land Doctrine tree that use the term "frontline battalion" when giving bonuses for Soft Attack or Organization. I used to think this meant any unit in a division template that was not a support company, but then I've read posts that "frontline" doesn't include Line Artillery.
Am I correct in assuming that a "Frontline" Battalion is any unit that usually fights close range? Examples:
Leg Infantry
Special Forces
Cavalry
Motor/Mech Infantry
Tanks
Tank Destroyers
Armored Cars
Line Anti-Tank
Support Anti-Tank
Support Engineers
Then, all remaining units, which fight from great distances, or mostly serve in rear areas, would not be considered a "Frontline" Battlion? Examples:
Line Artillery
Support Artillery
Self-Propelled Artillery
Anti-Air
Self-Propelled Anti-Air
Rocket Artillery
Support Rocket Artillery
Field Hospital Company
Maintenance Company
Military Police Company
Logistics Company
Signal Company
Let me know if this looks correct. Thanks.
