Sunset Harbor is almost here!

Upon release, you will automatically download patch 1.13.0-f7 on PC, which will include the changes listed below regardless of if you purchase Sunset Harbor or not.

This means that if you are using mods you may run into some save game incompatibility for a little while after release while mod creators update their mods. This can take some time, but thanks to an amazing modding beta and community, most mods are fixed in under 48 hours.

We’ll have an extra mods troubleshooting guide ready for you tomorrow!

The Child Health Center should have been named as "Children's Hospital", lol.

Also if there's pause on load (starting with this patch), then that means I do not need the mod anymore?

What about Camera Positions Utility? It has the option to save camera positions when you save a city. I think using both with the in-game vanilla version would cause a conflict.

It definitely looks like the Pause on Load mod will no longer be needed. As for Camera Positions Utility the mod still does a bunch of other things. I've only done a bit of testing so far, but I haven't had any issues with the mod, so looks like the new option and the mod get along nicely. :)

The fact modders are doing testing already - Wouldn't it be possible to get a list of broken mods before the release to minimize the risk of breaking our save?

This update seems pretty significant. Couple clarification if possible:

Fixed: All City Service buildings, parks, unique building and monuments remain functional when placed next to elevated road
Does this mean we will be able to snap and build those buildings without the need to hide a ground road with Move It?

More flexible building placement
What does this mean?

Note: Pause on Load sounds great (never used the mod)!

It's great to see some improvements for the consoles but what about performance and memory improvements for the PC version of CS?

Pedestrians can walk on quays now????!!!!

Yes! I'm super excited about this and will be updating my quays on the workshop, so our citizens can enjoy a walk by the waterfront. :D

We don't release the list early to avoid confusion about what is working right now and what isn't. And modders are also working on fixes, so for some of these mods, you might not even notice that they broke - they will have been updated before you got a chance to launch the game. Plus, the mods that typically break the save and can't be removed, can't be removed before the patch either (or at least it's complicated to do so), so knowing won't actually help you. :)

"Fixed: All City Service buildings, parks, unique building and monuments remain functional when placed next to elevated road"
This means that buildings will no longer function next to an elevated road. This was unintended behavior, which has been fixed now. So you will definitely need a road on the ground after the patch goes live.

For the placement changes the dev diary goes into a bit more detail:

Placing buildings on curved roads and slopes has also been made simpler with more flexible building placement. Building onto the inside curve of a curved road, for example, is not challenging anymore. Building pedestrian paths is easier now, too.

Is there any way to uninstall this update? I just want to play Cities Skylines, as like most of the world I am stuck at home. My saved game which I have put countless hours of development into, it now unusable.

Thanks, I had already checked the list, and of the mods I had been using only TMPE was listed as broken., but that had already been fixed. So even using the startup options to disable workshop content my city failed to load with lots of null errors. A new city was my last resort option.

I managed to fix my city and by trial and error tracked it down to some custom metro stations I had subscribed to.

Using the startup option to disable all workshop content didn't work, so my guess is that your city won't delete an asset if it is still subscribed, even if the startup option is to exclude workshop content. However when it is unsubscribed, it just deletes the asset when it loads the city.

Even so it would be nice to be able to delay a major update, until all your favorite mods/assets have been updated or to allow you to decide when to troubleshoot the problem.
