Hello, i subbed Spain. I do not know whoever is playing it but i wouldnt care less.
The thing is, when i subbed Spain, things were awesomely caothic. Spain had about 6 WE or more (in cores!) almost 0 army, being stab hited to the death by Austria and very crappy morale, despite having DOTF (i couldnt even assault minimal forts sucessfully ffs).
I imediately started minting like a bitch, started getting mercs and so on. Veneto was taken to avoid getting more stab hits. After situation against austria stabilized, i was DoWed by France. All hell seemed to break loose, but i kept in mind that my dear Spinola, yes, my dear Spinola, would come and save my hairy ass in 1602. So , i tried to avoid France at all cost, and focused on defending Spain/Holland in massive numbers, or behind rivers. Flanders, Brabant and Hainaut were obviously lost. But when My awesome, kick assing Spinola spawned... Kept getting mercs and blitzed defenseless southern France. Cheech tried to stop me and ate the bait: i was looking for some decisive battles to manage to Blitz him deadly. In a few years managed to turn the tide, and had all southern France under my belly. Austria tried to intervene but their armies got uterly stoped by 3 factors: they had to travel across a river, they had only infantry ON PLAINS, and to top it all, i had the god forsaken Spinola.
In the peace treaty, i managed to get 4 provinces outa France. I was about to kick some austrian butt but i prefered to WP them, despite wanting their itaian holdings. No one gave me instructions on what to do, so, sorry if i disapointed whoever is the PERM.
I had 350 MI when i got in, by the end of the session i had 550 MI or such. Income raised drastically, and i researched one infra and one trade level. With all the cash i got i built some forts in Iberia (Turenne is spawning soon... Beware!), built a shipyard and got about 700 ships, 200 warships and 450 galleys or such. I wouldnt have wasted cash on ships since England seems to be friendly and so does the OE, but since China kept threatning me, i decided to. I also was about to build manus till i noticed the bankrupcies were about to hit. Anyway, by the end of the session, i got attacked by China despite not asking to, because i was too busy and could not focus my full atention on the PC. China is pretty stupid to think they can actually beat Spain: they will never get WS enough for a single stab hit.
Anyway, sent the 44 admiral i had with the 200 warships to California. They are about to reach it soon (they are near argentina atm). Sent a random conquistador i got via event there as well, to avoid atrition. Boosted trade a LOT, and might i say, it was kinda hard thanks to Sweden.
Spain got potential, but with Austria, France and possibly Bradenburg they are pretty messed i would say. It will take a genious now to lower the inflation and to raise tech speed. DP sliders are also messed: i mean, what the hell was the PERM thinking when he got aristocracy as Spain?! Free trading isnt a good thing either, Spain does not need extra merchants nor extra colonists since it is totaly narrowminded. Full Serfdom doesnt help things either. The Spanish army morale stinks, and if playabled properly, France will totaly steamroll Spain with Turenne. I moved a DP click towards land and another towards free subjects. Aristocracy also needs a major fix. It is hurting both infra and trade efienciency.
Anyway, whoever is taking over Spain, i wish them luck: you will need it. Tech sucks, and +10% inflation... Pretty ANGRY France, Austria, and prolly Bradenburg and/or Sweden.
EDITED: the 10% inflation was thanks to the bankrupcy. i minted about 3% during the war with France/Austria. I also got about 4-5 agricultural revolution events, raising your MP a notch.
