I have always felt that the usa could use a bit more flavor...
And since it was recently the 4rth of july I thought now would be the best time to post something about it


Before we move onto the suggestion, I may be asking for too much, So at least take a few of these into consideration?

First, I want to suggest that they get their own government type with an event accompanying it to fire soon after independence giving them this government type. Government right here:
American Republic(name up to further suggestion)
Effects:
Stability cost -10
Yearly prestige +1.5
Minimum autonomy of all provinces 10-20%?
Elections every 4 years
No republican tradition lost for re-electing twice UNLESS citizens vote against the re-election in whichcase You lose republican tradition, If re-elected more than twice you shall lose much more republican tradition and 1 stability
If citizens vote for your re-election a third time you do not lose 1 stability for re-electing, but the penalties on republican tradition still drop
Stats for presidents should be random just like monastic orders and also show up like this: ?/?/?

Along with a few events to come with this government type? (Might be a silly idea with no major game changing elements so im not a huge fan on it although it could help spice up the government)
Election events!

Ruler must have not been elected twice

Effects:
Option 1. Promise Nothing

Option 2. Promise lower taxes: Tax efficiency -5% for 8 years +10% chance to win the election

Option 3. Promise really low taxes: Tax Efficiency -15% for 8 years +20% chance to win the next election

Option 4. Promise more FREEDOM(sorry) +10 autonomy in all provinces and +20% chance to win the next election

Option 5. Promise Peace (Cannot declare war against any nation without suffering +6 unrest for 6 years +20% chance to win the next election

I might have made this one real messy so if you don't like the events move on ;P

If you are thinking about adding the political parties then I would suggest they work simular to the dutch republic with each party giving unique benefits, Just know that there is more than 2 political parties in the usa
Although I personally would rather not have this mechanism

Second, I felt the ideas were kind of weak aside from the goods produced 15% with 2 ideas dedicated to religious tolerance and 1 to a casus belli that you can easily get by taking exploration ideas which you most likely will be taking as the USA
Here is my suggestion for the new ideas:

Traditions: 1 Merchant | -10 Development cost
Idea1: Negative religious tolerance no longer gives any penalties. | Religious unity +20%
Idea2: Unrest -2
Idea3: Colonist 1
Idea4: Morale of armies +10
Idea5: 15% Goods produced
Idea6: Permenant casus belli on natives | Yearly Nationalism -5 years
Idea7: Military Technology Cost -8%
Ambition: 0.5 republican tradition


Development cost could use a re-shuffle, Although I have not so much of an idea as to where to put it and what to replace it with.

Third, A few events

Whenever the usa becomes independent more than 99% of the time their culture is english(if formed by britain), I say there should be some kind of event which changes the culture to american that fires if these conditions are met:

Country is: USA
"This event" did not fire
Culture is in the "British" group (so, Even if the culture was american before this event they still get the -25% culture conversion cost for 10 years)
Is an independent country

Effects:
Option 1: Primary Culture changes to American
Culture conversion cost -25% for 10 years

Option 2: Prestige -10

American manpower

Event firing conditions:
Country is: USA
Owned provinces: 320
Year is at least: 1700

Effects:
Maximum Manpower: +20% Until the end of the game

This one could be historically inaccurate since america wasn't really very popular for its manpower until they reached the pacific coast...

Final, a few missions:

1.Conquer the north-west
effects: add claims on the north-west
completion: owns all provinces in the north-west
reward: 10 prestige

2.I'd say florida but you already have this one

3.Control louisiana trade
completion: has more than 50 trade power in louisiana
rewards: (idk)

4.Control Carribean trade
completion: has more than 50 trade power in the carribean node
rewards: (idk)

Because you can always make it exist earlier even as soon as 1500 ;P

I'm always baffled when I see people demanding changes for USA. I think that there are far more important changes than adding flavor to nation that is only playable for few decades.

Did you not read the previous comment? That is only some 60-80 years after the game start...

I had way more ideas planned for this post last night such as making an american culture for the iberian,french,italian and german groups... and a seperate event for each one. of course I thought that would be too much to ask for

I don't agree with the whole suggestion, I am far more on the side of the people who are saying a nation that rarely exists doesnt need much attention, the government is fine, when form USA happens you get constitutional republic, this is fine and theres no need to really expand on this. I have said before that the only reason America should ever get attention is because some of the american players would like to play as their own nation, even then it only needs a couple of descisions and events. Other than that a few bits of europe still need more depth and the middle east, india and china need more attention, not in province depth so much since AoW but in general flavour.

The thing is America was not a real power in the timeline, and with the recent restrictions on colonisation and development they are actually far less likely to spawn. I cant see the USA actually being a key player either.

Funnily enough, I've never seen an English USA once. Most of the time it ends up Norwegian. On the other hand, I regularly see English Mexico as Spain colonizes elsewhere (South America and Africa mostly).

I don't find this very fitting at all.
I have said before that the only reason America should ever get attention is because some of the american players would like to play as their own nation, even then it only needs a couple of descisions and events.
They would also have more incentive if there was more fun and flavor in the region

The USA was never meant to be a key player in the rest of the world, Only in the continent of america

Governments arent pogrammed to be identical to how they really are, just a rough guide. America is a Constitutional republic and the way that the government works is fair to how early America actually was.

Most of these are to do with the USA nation, it has its own DLC dedicated to it, why should it need more when there are areas of the world with almost no flavour at all.

I say my suggestion should be implemented into that DLC!

Also it's so historical, we have so many events for european nations that fire years before they historically did, Why cant the usa exist in 1550?.

We also have the whole Sunset invasion thing going on which is really a-historical

They lost it in one of the updates and it became constitutional republic which is avaliable to all ex colonial nations.
