Not sure if this has been mentioned by anyone, but with the tsaesci would it be possible to change republics, merchant republics and theocracy and tribal succession to enatic like the feudal titles?

Nope. Merchant republics being agnatic is a hardcoded thing.

I know Crisis of the Confederation managed a work around that I think works today, but it's pretty complex and took a lot of work to get, well, working. Also, I think it's still prone to breaking under some conditions.

Its not, simply opening up the gender laws to be available works fine from my own tweaking. The only major problem I have noticed is that sometimes baron tier titles including the family house title default back to Agnatic for no reason meaning a female heir you then play will become feudal while a random guy will become the new family head with all you city's and castles going to them. This can be solved with an event to check and switch the titles back to the right succession laws which is how Crisis of the Confederation does it I believe. I actually got it working in Elder Kings a few versions ago though it stopped working due to SVN changes.

I don't think the "become friends" action is WAD. I can befriend ANYONE just by clicking it. There seems to be no discretion whatsoever on the part of the AI in becoming friends-- I befriended people who had abysmal opinions of me, including all the daedra. Naturally, this is an issue that can be ridiculously abused, as it's basically and endless and guaranteed supply of allies.

Ironically and amusingly, I had the ambition to become close friends with someone, and it didn't register as completed even after I befriended basically all landed Lord's/ladies I wasn't at war with. So that's an issue too, but far more minor.

I'm pretty sure that's just a debugging tool for the dev's to test stuff, this sort of thing occurs when using a dev build.

Oh, I wouldn't doubt it. I understand all the caveats and riders that come along with the SVN access, but I did a bit of research and couldn't find this discussed anywhere else, so wanted to make sure I mentioned it.

That's exactly it. There isn't a console command to make one character the friend of another character, so using a targeted decision circumvents that.

Why? It's supposed to be one of the most powerful spells in the game and less dedicated casters don't have the focus to master it properly.

I believe, but don't quote me, that both nightblade and battlemage are able to gain the necromancer trait and achieve lichdom. Is the immortality spell really THAT different?

Well, with the latest non SVN version lichdom has some nasty consequences on the long run. You end up being really undead, unless you worship certain daedra and are willing to pay ludicrous amounts of piety. So basically immortality spell let's you play an immortal character without any major drawbacks (except, maybe, for the lack of fertility) while lichdom turns you into an undead monster hated by everyone. Lichdom also has an impact on your skills, giving a huge bonus to learning (+5) and receiving a big penalty to diplomacy (-3 or something like that, plus any other after becoming completely undead).

But, hey, isn't it cool to be an undead wizard hated by everyone trying to conquer Tamriel with the help of his summoned undead courtiers and his wretched armies?

That sounds very interesting, can't wait for the next public version. But is there any way you can actually rule as a Lich? I guess that being hated by your vassals is really... unappealling.

Sorry to push the issue, but I also believe (but don't know for certain) that priests are able to cast the immortality spell. Priests are just as busy doing non-magic related priest stuff as battlemages are with warmongering and nightblades doing stabby stuff.

Not really. Well, yeah. Amassing tons of undead soldiers to keep your unloyal vassals from being powerful enough to enforce any demands. Something I'd really like to see in the new version is an opinion modifier for undead and/or liches to Necromancy Cult/Ideal Masters worshippers or even other necromancers, similar to the one already in use for Molag Bal cultists and vampires in the SVN. It would certainly make it much more attractive to necromancers to actually join one of those faiths and expand them. A lich king with Necromancy Cult vassals adoring him as some form of eternal emperor seems like a nice thing to me.

Wait what? That's possible now? Last time I played a Lich (on 1.5) you could create undead courtiers, but there was no way to give them land.

You can actually give them land using a shenanigan, and if you're willing to lose some control over your title granting. If you just fill your court with undead and get past your demesne limit, some courtier/councillor will offer some help to manage your titles and will begin distributing lands among your courtiers and vassals, which should be undead.

It's somewhat messy, though. But it's still better than nothing, until something coherent and balanced is designed for undead. But anyway, that's not really important at the moment, and I understand the devs have better things in mind than just messing around with the whole undead thing.

P.D. - Secular Anchorite FTW! No more "Orgnum only" caliphate : P.

It's probably not going to matter for some time, but the new disease mechanics outlined in the official DD would be very useful for the Knahaten Flu - especially since it can now happen multiple times :)

Just had an idea. It would be cool if there was a faction from western tamriel in Akavir from the start. Perhaps an exile that set up his own republic or duchy on the foot of Tsaesci domain or some Falmer that made it to Kamal. Just a thought. I always dig exiles and colonies.

Wasn't sure where the appropriate place to ask this was, but is there any way to make people less willing to marry their heirs to women of different races? (ie nord-breton, heartlander-redguard) The Great House system in Morrowind seems to follow a similar logic, where people trying to forge alliances lose their house unless they're careful to always do it with the spares to the throne (and even then, it's hard to tell who might inherit in the future when you're dealing with elves)
It makes it pretty frustrating when nobody is where they're supposed to be

Wasn't sure where the appropriate place to ask this was, but is there any way to make people less willing to marry their heirs to women of different races? (ie nord-breton, heartlander-redguard) The Great House system in Morrowind seems to follow a similar logic, where people trying to forge alliances lose their house unless they're careful to always do it with the spares to the throne (and even then, it's hard to tell who might inherit in the future when you're dealing with elves)
It makes it pretty frustrating when nobody is where they're supposed to be
I think the AI can do marriage weightings based on culture but I'm not sure.

I think the AI can do marriage weightings based on culture but I'm not sure.

They can only if they are programmed to, and the AI is 100% hardcoded and, as far as testing goes, they will ignore culture and even religion if given the chance. Religion sorta helps as a barrier because foreign rulers will be reluctant to marry infidels, but if that gets circumvented somehow (such as the favor system), then they will happily marry.

I haven't seen any kind of crafting system in EK (I haven't played that much so maybe I missed it) and I started doing one of my own, if the devs are interested (I could give you the code needed if you want to) :
Crafting system :
- Be, or have a courtier/vassal, a Smithy or an Orc
- Have at least one ore source in your demesne (including : Orichalcum, Moonstone, Glass, Ebony, Dwemer)
- Do not already have a weapon/armour/jewel (you can craft an armour if you already have a weapon, but can't if you already have an armour for exemple) - Daedric artefacts are excluded (so you can craft a weapon when having Dawnbreaker)
- Have some money (if you craft it yourself you pay 25 gold, and if a courtier or vassal has do it, you pay 50 gold)

Then you choose what type of artefact you want to craft : Weapon, Armour or Jewel
Then the type of ore used : Orichalcum, Moonstone, Glass, Ebony, Dwemer // Copper, Silver, Gold, Ebony (for jewelry only)
And you got your artefact !

Note that it completely depletes the ore mine, so use it carefully.
