I saw the dev diary released the Tuesday before last was on the subject of improving the Nation Designer. I'm just putting a few suggestions out: I like the Nation Designer, but it could be much better, especially in East Asia. So here are a few settings that I would like to see added:

Enable/Disable Celestial Empire: click here if you want a massive blob in China; don't if you would rather it was treated like everywhere else.
Enable/Disable Shogunate: enable if you want the current Japan Nation Designer system (random daimyo and shogun); disable if you want Japan to be treated like everywhere else.
Enable/Disable HRE: Self-explanatory. Because surely people sometimes want a game with a strong German state and a massively fractured France/Iberia/Poland/whatever. Or fractured everything for that matter.
East/West Tech Flip: Enabling makes East Asia the most technologically advanced region in the game. Chinese and Western tech groups swap places, as do Indian/Eastern and Muslim/Ottoman. (I suppose it would also make sense to make Far Eastern nations the new colonial powers if this was turned on)
Enable/Disable Sunset Invasions: Enable to give Mesoamerican and Andean nations no tech penalties.
Religious Blurring: Enable to give nations an equal chance of following the religion of any of their provinces. (So if a random country starts off with 6 Hindu and 2 Sunni provinces, they have a 75% chance of being Hindu and a 25% chance of being Sunni)

Any thoughts? Am I being stupid here?

Well, you are certainly up to something here.

Something i would like is an option to not have massive blobs, like i build a nation for 200 points and right next to me my only neighbor is a 1000 development state. There should be a cap to how big random ai nations could be.

Another thing is an option to shuffel culture mapmode, so all culture groups get spread out all over the world, so maybe french is the dominating cultuer in China, and Greek is the Scottish. (Maybe also the same thing with religions.)

A littel tweak too some of your options: Random placement of the HRE so the HRE might end up covering up south France and most of Iberia.
Also the Shogunate, so instead of Japan maybe it end up in Indonesia.

So this is a +1 :)

Agree with all that (Random Shogunate Location, anyone? Choice between Japan, Philippines, West Indonesia, East Indonesia, maybe even Australia?). I also have one more that I forgot to put in:

Enable Norse: All countries with capitals in Scandinavia (and possibly GB as well) follow Norse religion. All Scandinavian provinces are Norse.

I want all of this.

Could also add Spread Zoroastrian, which makes the Persia area Zoroastrian and nations there follow it.

Yes! Why not also add an option to remove all Abrahamic faiths (with the possible exception of Judaism seeing as it's a) rare enough as it is and b) the oldest of the three)? Lots of Norse and Zoroastrian, maybe even Hellenic, tons of Animism/Shamanism for the rest.
