I personally enjoy Nippon and China. I think China offers a plethora of options, and just when you think everything is about to get boring, WHAM!!! The mid 1600s hit you like a freight train. I actually attempted world conquest with China, and managed to conquer the majority of the world, despite the splitting of my empire into various rebel nations in the 1600s. Unfortunetely, my lack of missionaries, the tax penalties associated with Confucianism, and some poor DP slider choices made me unable to conquer European countries without immediately losing them to rebels. It's a different game than European conquest. Imagine 10 groups of 50 or so transports ferrying troops to and from the Chinese mainland into Persia in order to attack Europe. You really have to think ahead when your various tax penalties add up to 90-100% reduction in tax (making troop recruitment nearly impossible outside of China). Just my two cents... I've loved playing the non-European nations.
