Seems like a no brainer. Wouldn't this be a very useful technology on Mars? Can we please have a rail line we can set up between domes? Perhaps this would allow colonists to relocate between domes with electricity instead of fuel usage of shuttles. Would also decrease the usage load of the shuttles.
The same could be said of cargo. The rail line could be used for cargo and consume electricity instead of consuming shuttle load and fuel.
Thanks!

I like the idea of trains. Instead of passages, or as an extension of them, you can have trains that ferry colonists and materials between stations.

Maybe have two variants, one for industrial use, moving materials, and one for just moving colonists.
