I don't know if this has been mentioned before but now the game and mods are mature enough isn't about time for more complete mod to be created?
For example Network Extensions, Network Skins, Traffic Manager, Traffic++, IPT etc. to be combined in one complete mod eliminating conflicts and improving performance.
Similar for prop mods as "More Beautification" combined with Prop Precision, Prop Snapping etc etc.

Who remembers NAM in SimCity4 ? Well I hope something similar will happen here too. I've seen already mods been worked together by popular modders hope to see bigger projects in future.

well i use Network Extensions Project but no longer use Traffic++ due to the performance hit so i would prefer if they stayed separate.

I've stopped using Traffic++ too because of conflicts but a complete mod normally should not have performance issues and there would be options to disable things you don't want.
And there won't be Traffic++ or Network Extensions but something new that should use what's best and possible without internal conflicts.

the performance issues are due to the changes that all traffic++-type mods make to the game, that's why when you reach a population of around 100,000 the game starts to slow down. incorporating them with another mod won't change that

Most conflicts are solved by the creators if possible. I'm not sure how much of a performance improvement would be possible. Perhaps a slightly faster loading time, but it's still limited as we can't create packages (at least afaik). Personally it'd be super practically for me as I use alot of mods, so even just having a sorter list to maintain would be nice. But on the other hand there are lots of people who'd rather go the other way and have only parts of a mod. Some mods like NExt lets you pick and choose what you want, but we could also quickly end up with mods that you need a guide to understand all it's options. ;) On top of that comes that only one person can update a mod on steam, so even if these mods made by different people were merged, one person would have to be the one uploading changes. We saw that with NExt recently.

I think the mod creators are doing well with merging relevant stuff. Especially when they have to work with the Steam Workshop, which just isn't very flexible.

In a perfect world the best mods would be incorporated within the base game, it would load in seconds and never crash. Rainbow coloured unicorns would also fly across the sky and we would all discover that Donald Trump was just an imaginary figure from a bad dream...
