Hello, I have an idea about the infamy system.

When we take a province from defeated country, our infamy grows 4 point. This point is same for all provinces such as rich provinces or poor.

I think, it will be more balanced and stable if when we taking Thrace (rich province; base tax, production and manpower) our country should gain more than 4 infamy or when taking Rhodes (poor province) our country should gain less than 4 infamy.

Well, how this system work? (If it is possible of course)
Firstly, all province worths will be calculated.

Examples:

Thrace;
Base tax: 14
From goods production: 8,59
Base manpower: 3370
XThrace = √[(14+8,59)*3370] = 276

Rhodes;
Base tax: 2
From goods production: 9,46
Base manpower: 459
XRhodes = √[(2+9,46)*459] = 73

Alexandria;
Base tax: 11
From goods production: 5,84
Base manpower: 1145
XAlexandria = √[(11+5,84)*1145] = 139

Approximately province worth's (divide them with 35)

Thrace: 276/35 ~ 8
Rhodes: 73/35 ~ 2
Alexandria: 139/35 ~ 4

So,

When we take Thrace our infamy grows 8 point,
When we take Rhodes our infamy grows 2 point,
When we take Alexandria our infamy grows 4 point.

.

Im for it. Might i also suggest that you get less infamy when taking a province from a very big nation and more from taking a province from a tiny nation.

Infamy isn't just about value, it's about the fact that you're taking something without proper rights to it. Other points:

* Late game, most provinces have higher base tax/manpower, and thus infamy costs grow. (Thrace is a funny example, because its base tax drops to 10 if you start after 1690)

* Why are we only using base tax, since that leaves out the effect of a CoT, which makes a province much more valuable to the local economy?

I think the Infamy system is one of the worst things in EU3. Ideally every country should view you with a different Infamy rating, but this would probably be hard to view and have an impact on game performance. It would perhaps be better to have a different Infamy rating for different continents and religions - and your overall Infamy as it appears to each nation is an average of that depending on what continent and religion they are.

It really isn't about province worth. If anything, infamy should change depending on how long the person you're taking from has had the province.

Ex. The taking of constantinople, the capital of the empire for a thousand years, really ought to be a Big Deal to the rest of the world.

If province worhts are calculated with different ways, it could be useful maybe.

Also I have a new idea; Infamy points can multiplied with techgroups efficient, examples;

western techgroup countries get infamy: 1*InfamyPoint
eastern techgroup countries get infamy: 0,9*InfamyPoint
muslim techgroup countries get infamy: 0,8*InfamyPoint
indian techgroup countries get infamy: 0,5*InfamyPoint
chinese techgroup countries get infamy: 0,4*InfamyPoint

Yes... but value matters. If you take the bus without a ticket it might be wrong, but it wont get you thrown in jail. If you steal $100 mil dollars from a bank on the other hand you will go to jail. Same thing applies here. Taking a strip of worthless desert might be wrong, but not a great offence against international society at the time being. Annexing the Papal State on the other hand or parts of the Holy Roman Empire would have resulted in a dramatic respose.

They could but I don't see why you'd want to do this?

It is same as like techgroups efficients. To the eastward countries were bigger, also grew quickly. The same thing applies to African and China. So they should get little few infamy.

What I would like to see changed is the way it works in alliance wars.

If Portugal declares holly war on Algiers and Morocco is allied, and if Portugal has a core, let's say in Tangiers, why should this province accrue 4 infamy?
