Hey Hey
I have a problem with my save game in Cities Skylines and I know that Paradox Interactive don't have the responsibility for mods that doesn't work or can ruin the game, but the problem occurred when the new patch Patch 1.3.1-f1 was released for Cities skylines.

The problem is that the game just keeps on loading forever and I've tried everything to fix the problem, everything from troubleshooting in the output log to disable mods etc.

My suggestion that could solve/help people:

  • Add different versions of the game after a patch to the "Steam beta" tab (Ex. Patch 1.2.2-f2 where my saved game works)
-By doing that; It will still make maps playable and won't ruin save games when a new update comes out. (Euro Truck Simulator 2 does this)

  • Make a standard error prop/make it clear what's wrong?
-For example if an asset is missing and the game gets stuck in a limbo, isn't it possible to make an standard "ERROR" modell where the prop is to fill it in so the map loads? (Garrysmod uses this)

When a building or prop is missing, it will just disappear. So you can not ruin savegames with a building.

The big problem with multiple game versions is that the workshop would also need a versioning system (otherwise it would download the mod updates for the new game version, which are very likely incompatible with the old one).

I can only recommend you to enable steam offline mode for a week or two.
