Don't know if it's been suggested before, but here's a suggestion I also posted in the Screenshot thread: how about making it possible for rebels to 'break' the government? For example the requirement could be that the capital is held by rebels for a certain amount of time. Then, when the 'break' (=revolution) happens, a new government is put in place along with very different slider settings, a part of the rebel divisions switch to the new regime (i.e. become owned by the country), while other rebel divisions stay rebels. Any loyalist divisions (i.e. owned by the country when the break happens) become rebels. This way, the game could simulate a civil war.

Why is that not reported in the Bug Reports section then? ;)

Cause I have no idea what regime_falls is supposed to be used for/do as well and I can't think of a use for it. I don't think it's important enough to distract you from fixing other bugs.

I was posting my suggestion as a reaction to a kind of buggy behavior pointed out in the screenshot thread: if France loses WW1 it often becomes (almost) entirely occupied by rebels, and is unable to recover from it. Not only does this look weird (and buggy, although not the CTD kind of buggy), but also unrealistic: IRL the rebels would organize a new govt if they occupy most of the country. Basically, a country needs a 'way out' when they can't hold their territories in the face of rebels.

Its way to hard to beat France as Germany in the 36 Scenario much less 33, I still have not beaten the Dutch and Belgians in my Germany game right now :(.

You not gonna change amount of tech teams slots, right? Five is perfect, research should have a bit of challenge for player (you have to set priorities).

You can already change the number of tech teams now.
Please look at the "misc" and search for maximal Nr. of tech teams.
It is no problem to go with 6, 7 or whatever You like. Just keep the costs in mind.

whine. Why should the devs cripple the game because you have a hard time with it? Keep it tough and rise to the challenge.

Agreed that the 3rd Republic is perhaps a bit to strong atm, but in regular HOI2 it was far to weak so there´s no use comparing the two games in my opinion. Also France weren´t really that divided in 1940 (except in the military) and the main reason why Germany won so easily where:
1. Wrong guys at the wrong place (Just imagine if DeGaulle or any other good french officer had been higher up in the command chain instead of the 1WW-'heroes' who had no idea on how to conduct modern warfare).
2. French reluctance to go on the offensive (In 1939 when Germany attacked Poland France could have caused massive damage in the poorly defended southwestern areas of Germany).
3. Lack of aerial defence (France´s airforce where numerically inferior compared to the Luftwaffe and couldn´t compete).
4. 'Luck' on behalf of the Germans (The fact that the gamble in the Ardenne Forests payed of is one of the military mysteries of the War in my opinion).

All these factors are hard to model in a game since they where dependant on human errors which a machine (AI) can´t do.

I agree that the French army is far better in DH compared to other HOI games- and that is justified.
Various points why they were beaten against some odds are already mentioned.

To my opinion need the lowlands, i. e. the Netherlands and Belgium, more balancing.
They can stop the German forces for too long.
On the other hand - i like the invasions of British forces.
So, all in all, it is challenging and fun, thus thumps up! :happy:
