One thing that I've still been bothered by a bit since 2.2, is that there's still only two consistent ways to get research; buildings, or combat. I had hoped for there to be a way to boost your research by your economic power, like purchasing techs. This rather brought me to a bigger idea to get this idea into existence, and more; the Auction House.

As soon as the galactic market has been settled, the auction house will be accessible as a third tab. Every 3 months, you'll be offered 4 items to bid on. Bidding costs credits and influence. However, you can only bit on one item at a time, and bids can be outbid (similar to how the galactic market nomination works.) once the 3 months are up, you'll receive the item you bid on.

What can you bid on?
- technology
--- comes in pre-researched. If you already own the research, you instead get part of its cost in research components
--- some techs are only available through the market, for new ship parts or Starbase modules/buildings.

- building blueprints
--- similar to monuments, they are single-use.
--- contain unique buildings such as; Community Forum (boosts society research and happiness), Gravity Chambers (boosts physics research and amenities), Inventor's Fair (boosts engineering research and trade value)

- ships
--- ship components are unknown and can't be changed
--- can contain unique civilian ships such as; Recyclers (can engage into debris studies, and gets minerals/alloys/ in addition from the tech gained.), espionage sonar (civilian ship with outstanding listening range.), orbital satellite (gains a bigger boost when used to assist research) or expedition envoy (higher anomaly success change)

- leaders/governors
--- species can be completely random
--- comes paired with some traits visible at the start.

- governmental manjscripts
--- contains single-use edicts or decisions for a planet. Decisions last permanently but are planet-side, edicts last temporarily, but free to use, and are empire-wide
--- contains decisions like; (stripmining; higher mineral gain from mining districts.), advanced infrastructure (higher credits gain from generator district)
