Many cities with trams also run heritage trams or other special touristy/fun trams.
Stockholm has both heritage trams and a café tram, Helsinki has bar tram, etc etc.

Would it be possible to implement this in Cities Skylines? I'm thinking yes, considering there's sightseeing buses and walking tours. Maybe have three or four sub-variants: sightseeing, heritage, café, & bar trams. Each slightly different in who is attracted and impact on surrounding areas in terms of beauty & noise.

Why split them up? In part to make it easier for people to use great tram assets from the workshop.
For a sightseeing tram: a glassy, futuristic doubledecker.
For a heritage tram: so, so many to choose from!
For the bar tram: a model of the actual Koff tram in Helsinki (I'm betting they would LOVE to be included in the game).

I would like to see extra models added to the service vehicles. We now have 3 bus types (standard, bio and school) which we can pick ourselves so be nice to see maybe trams be tweaked to have a couple model variants too. I don’t think they would go so far as to give the trams additional mechanics beyond public transport but if you had a classic 40-50s style tram on a line that ran through a beach seafront area or a ultra modern tram like those in Germany that look basically like trains running through your downtown areas. It may not add the extras that to it suggesting but would certain add abit of visual character to areas with them

Plenty of trams on the Steam Workshop. But for non-PC users I see your point. I agree with it. 2-3 more tram models would be a nice addition to the non-PC version of the game. They should do that.

But I'd say it is a separate issue from the idea I'm suggesting and still feel my idea is worth implementing. :)

Oh I agree, it would add some more flavour and depth to the game. My comment was a compromise suggestion for the Devs if they didn’t want to implement it fully :)
