When fires happen you see the fire trucks racing to a fire. But there are no police emergencies. No speeders or crime where police respond to emergencies that I have seen. They just drive around making sure burglar icons do not pop up. That's it. I suggest riots in poor land value areas or areas without service if you neglect them. And break ins in wealthier areas. Stuff like that would be fun and add realism.

It's a great idea, but it shouldn't stop there. Here's what this game needs:

-Car accidents that influence traffic. Mild ones where only police is needed. Heavier ones that require an ambulance and/or a firetruck.
-The suggested above emergencies. Riots, break-ins, murders, hostage-situations where you can see the cops negotiating outside a building like you see firefighters put out a fire.
-Courts that sentence criminals and settle disputes between citizens.
-Prisons where criminals can repent.
-Administration buildings. There's no town hall in my huge city. Where do people go to get a drivers license?

These are features that are heavily lacking, and should be in the game at a base design level. It seems like playing early-access without them.

Great ideas. Car accidents should happen if you have unsafe intersections, like too high a speed merging on highways and very busy intersections for example.

I think there are already police emergencies. They go with lights flashing and siren on to a crime in progress. The car stops for a second at the building instead of cruising by. If select the police car it says 'responding to a call at ______"

I agree the emergency services is underwhelming at the moment. Would love to see a dlc. It would add so much more atmosphere to the game.

Suggestions:

-More vehicle assets such as different types of police cars, suvs, motorcyles, undercover vehicles.
-Add the option to militarize police and add swat trucks/team to respond to serious calls.
-Easier to follow emergency services such as the police on the main map
-See what types of criminals there are and what they are up to on the main map.
-See the police cims actually arrest people, shoot, struggle, tazer with the bad guys.
-Have a list of the different types of crimes or criminal groups like gangs. Robbery, murder, theft, arson, drug, terrorist attack.
-I like the modular buildings in Simcity. For example adding a helicopter tower, hazmat firetruck, or adding additional police vehicles to patrol etc.

I think police emergencies already exist - my cops sometimes turn on their sirens to go somewhere, probably to stop a crime from happening.

Whatever the devs do though, please DO NOT make it so that we have to manually respond to the emergencies. Nothing was more annoying than in SimCity4 when you leave the game running for a bit (say, taking a break or trying to accumulate money) and all of a sudden some fire happens and it pauses waiting for you to have to go put out the fire. That got annoying really fast.

Well, they exist, but they feel undeveloped and bland. SimCity 4 let people see what different crimes were being committed with an overlay, and this lent a lot of personality to the cities in question. Here we have a police car driving by buildings and having an icon disappear, sometimes with the car stopping for a few seconds, which is underwhelming.

In real life, certain crimes are major events in the history of a city. The Zodiac killer in San Francisco, the Son of Sam in New York, Al Capone in Chicago, the spike of bank robberies in L.A. in the 90s, race riots in Cleveland, the Oklahoma City bombing . . . these are major events that defined entire eras. Murders are probably too grisly for CSL. But imagine if poor police coverage in a commercial district led to a series of armed robbery with an icon popping up with "Armed robbery in progress!" A series of arsons, or a major police standoff in a leveled up building, or a wave of pickpocketing, or a celebrity scandal would add a lot of excitement and personality to a city without the need for major changes to the game.

I think the best thing would be for them to add car accidents, that occur often if you do not have good traffic planning. I have started to notice other emergencies, but it is always a burglar
