This is simply a quick though I have had after plugging about 600 hours into Stellaris so far and thinking of ways to improve or add more to game experience.

One idea I had would be implementing a game speed, much like the Civilization series that could affect at the very least, research speeds, population growth and even FTL times and basically anything time related. In other words an option when setting the options for you galaxy.

These could be anywhere from Quick/Fast, reduced tech costs, faster build times, faster pop growth etc. To Very Slow, with slower growth, higher tech costs, slower travel times and a generally more slow paced game.

Now I have no idea how much effort it would take to add something of this nature in the game and it's purely an idea I wanted to get some community opinion on?

So, what do we all think?

anything that makes the game faster, i'm all for. Sadly I don't have the time anymore to play through 50 or 100 hours of a game. Maybe the pace seems faster mid-late game, but I always tend to either find a fatal flaw or not be able to play for a week or 2 and just start over.

The pace is fine at the moment honestly. 4-5 hours and your at paint the map mode currently. Then it's grind to victory screen time if you keep playing.

That's not saying you're done with said content available with leviathan etc, but as far as getting to basically the end of the mechanical elements of the game, yeah.

On topic, I wouldn't mind a slow grindy game, or a faster gauntlet of a game myself and given the option
