This very interesting game can take a LONG time to play! At the slowest clock speed, it's about a minute a month, so a 400-year campaign adds up to 80 hours of staring at the screen, looking for flags to drop, announcements to appear, a rebellion to pop up, a naval engagement, or an invasion anywhere in my empire... none of which will automatically stop the clock. Yes, I could speed up the clock, but then I'm likely to be days late in responding to situations. Yes, in the Middle Ages rulers didn't always know what was happening in distant provinces, but having a sort of omniscience and not being able to use it is frustrating. And yes, I could roll back the clock to the last monthly save and look more closely, but because the random number generator will also reset, that gives me the power to abort a revolt by magical means rather than learning the cost of revolts to my sorrow. Ideally, players would be able to choose which events will stop the clock, and there will be a distinct audible signal when this happens. Lots of other games have this feature, so I hope Paradox will insert it at the next patch.
