So here's an idea, tying in with the new Rebellion system, and vaguely based on this wiki page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes
So this guy would, in the game, be represented by a small chance of Catholic rebellion. This may fire or this may not, but I think there are a few extra events that could be triggered, where the chance of triggering is the amount of revolt risk (So events based on a Rebellious faction of 5% would have a small chance to fire, while a 95% faction would have a big chance to fire)
Examples of events that could fire:
- The assassination of a monarch or a heir. If the rebellious faction has external instigators, this will also cause a relations hit as well as a casus belli (a bit like how the first world war started)
- The failed assassination of a monarch or heir. Dependent on legitimacy, this could be a 'good' event (People cheer in the streets cause their benevolent leader survived - +1 stability) or a 'bad' one (People never liked the guy, and the failed attempt only made it worse - -1 stability)
- An ultimatum is posed. This can only happen if the rebellion is above 75%. If the ultimatum is rejected, the rebellion fires (and/or instantly gets raised to 100%). The ultimatum might be different from accepting/forcing demands, because no fighting has yet been done.
- The kidnapping of your heir: Get a choice: Either attack the rebellion (the rebellion fires), Ignore their demands (75% your heir dies) or accept their demands (Similarly to an ultimatum)
I'm sure there are more events you can think of, so please add any events to this thread, maybe we can make the rebellion more fun!
