In both HoI 3 and Darkest Hour divisions/brigades/air wings/ect. could be upgraded from one type to another ie: from INF to MOT or MOT to MEC. I assume that this sort of idea will continue to exist. There is, I feel, a problem with the way that this is implemented in HoI 3 and DH. That is that each division/brigade must (as far as I know) be upgraded individually.

My suggestion is that there should be an option to, say drag-select an arbitrary number of units and click a button that opens a drop-down menu. On this menu would be two lists of all of the brigades/air wings/ect. in the game. The menu might look something like this:

Do you wish to upgrade all selected ___Foot-Infantry Template Divisions___ to ___Motorized Infantry Template Divisions___?
Accept Cancel

With the both the original unit and the upgrade being drop-down menus similar to those used in DH for division/air wing upgrading

I can think of a couple of other good ways for this to be done, but I feel that this would be the best. What does the community think?

The Devs have stated that there will be equipment AND templates.. Which covers the entirety of what you're talking about..

This is how I figure it would go: You'd probably get a refund from your previous template (mot) and you'd have to pay the cost in built equipment and manpower to build the new template (Mech)

Then select the division and change the template to your motorized template like in my first example. That is the way they've made it seem like it works.
I think he means what if you want to upgrade one specific division from infantry to motorised. Say you build Division X in 1936, and in 1940 you want to ugprade only division X to motorised infantry, not every division that has same template.

I think we would be able to change the template of the division X from infantry to motorised infantry
