permanently and not take up an accepted culture slot. It's a weird concept to integrate a vassal and not accept their culture. Isn't that part of the integration process? This would apply to PUs too, except in cases were you auto inherit in less than 50 years to give some reason why you might integrate versus wait to inherit. I mean, it would still probably be sub-optimal, but at least we'd have another way to play. What do you guys think?

vassal feeding is probably an unexpected invention of players so they won't let it be more easy. The game design is coring directily and if you don't have resource or time to core, then leave them as territories or vassals.

Well, then the best strategy would be to release as vassal 1 OPM, integrate him after 10 years and repeat with each culture for the rest of the game. Stupid idea really.

I think annexing a vassal should temporarily give a discount to promoting that vassal’s primary culture, since both annexing and promoting cost diplo points

Do you think that there should be a limit, or should this make it possible to accept all cultures in your country if you expand mostly via vassals?

While I don't think this needs implementation, it's much weaker than mechanics that already exist in the game. Mughals immediately come to mind as a magic tag with magic culture acceptance beyond what other nations can possibly attain.

Except the difference between this and the Mughals is that this is available to every tag and accepting cultures is as easy as annexing an OPM.

How about auto culture converting all the vassals provinces with the vassals primary culture to your primary culture, to reflect the absorption? Significantly less ridiculous, while achieving much the same end goal.

@BlazeKnight_ I am not sure it is as easily exploitable, as the OPM tricks wouldn’t work, and it isn’t that much cheaper than simply culture converting if you are stacking culture conversion costs, which can be stacked very high indeed.

I'd estimate that annexing every culture to accept it would not be worth it in terms of diplomat time/temp diprep hits. Especially since players won't state everything.

Lets saying you play England and create an Irish vassal which u feed all the island so u dont have to spend early game admin power then you integrate that. You've just instantly removed Irish culture from the game so bad idea

I dont like on vassals. Too OP like people already pointed.

But for PUs, it can be done.

Maybe an event just after integrating or inheriting, in which the former overlord chooses if it wants to accept the former PU's primary culture for free. But using a slot, of course.

Integrating a vassal is reducing the autonomy and independence of the ruling class. It is not accepting the culture of an occupied people but sort of assimilating (or disempowering) their rulers into your culture.

From a gameplay perspective this would be bad because it would encourage players to search for ways to release, then integrate very small vassals.

Accepted culture is quite a precious asset to be easy to give.

They are the main source of manpower, don't have the -33% manpower of non-accepted culture. So prioritize the slots for manpower buildings and make them all states.

That would, in a game that follows history, result in Hungary, Bohemia, and much of the low countries converting to Austrian culture, Croatia converting to Hungarian and then Austrian culture, Lithuania converting to Polish culture, Scotland converting to English culture, Aragon converting to Castilian culture, and so on. Likewise, a successful Timurid run would have most of Persia being Uzbek.
