Today I had a King whom I was pressing a Kingdom claim for and was at 94% in war score when he suddenly died. Of course the war ended and I wasn't able to press the claim again because of the pacts against me. I was thinking in RL I would been able to keep his death under wraps for another month or at least a week, with my 20 Diplomacy and 37 Intrigue stats, to be able to finish the war. (Playing as son of Satan.)

So can we get this check to keep a death hidden from the wider world for a week or so if at over 90% warscore, it has been done in history many times.

Ooo, ooo, oo ! Over here ! Over here !

How about a "Dead" trait - the character is dead and will start to decompose pretty quick. Of course this renders them incapable, infertile and incompetent (-10 to all stats), but would allow their "regent" to take action on their behalf until the smell became too obvious.

And this could be caught via the existing on_death action - simply replace the actual death with the creation of the trait, then use that trait to trigger the follow up event chains - "Is my lord awake ?", "He doesn't look like he's sleeping" and "What the hell is that smell ?!".

This could be a great little addition to the usual vanilla "you're dead" mechanic, similar to the Chess with Death chain, and has a historical example with El Cid ! You could even ad in some player interactions to attempt to prolong the obvious. "Why do I need all these spices ? To hide the smell of co... I mean - we're throwing a big banquet don't you know !"

+1 heartily approve !

I agree. It as been done for Suleyman the Great in Ottoman Empire, he as been kept "alive" for over one month. The idea is great and logical
