Venice.png

1)Aim of the campaign:
a)Venetian sea achivement (10 province achivement of venice if name is wrong)
b)Conquering Japan
c)Forming italy and becoming a monarchy

2)Ideas I picked:
a)Religious
b)Quantity
c)Trade
d)Influance(I did progress game a bit. got jerusalem and Mekka and bits of india right now)

3)Abusing trade company mechanics to incrase production in region by miles currently. not conquering non coastal that are not trade node so I can make more money

Here is the question:What should I do? Can I get %75 trade power at Alexandria and Constantinapol at same time still?I am planning to declare war on ottomans, occupy their entire country and hope it will reduce their trade power and if not I am gonna conquer it then save scum so I can keep playing
Also what Ideas should I pick later on? Should I take expansion ideas? I am going for trade companies so I thought it will be great I think thanks to autonomy reduction?
also if I vassalize austria is there any chance that world doesn't join coalition on me (Currently they inherited hungary and burgundy too lol :D)

If you put the Alexandria and Constantinople nodes in trade companies - which you can - you can get 100% Trade Power (or, probably like 90-95% considering all the European merchants likely to be sitting there) in Alexandria and Constantinople. I'd recommend conquering their coast for yourself and doing just that, then just follow the Trade Centers east to China and, finally, Japan.

And no, if you vassalize Austria, the entire HRE will probably coalition you immediately.

I wouldn't take Expansion ideas for the -10% Autonomy in territories unless you also plan to do a lot of colonizing, which it sounds like you don't. Considering the amount of wrong culture/religion land you'll take and not state, I would have recommended Humanist, but you've already gone for Religious (presumably for the CB!), so consider something that will further buff your army rather than expansion. You're likely to be able to secure naval hegemony through sheer quantity of ships, so Naval, as always, isn't as useful as you might think.

I was thinking that expansion only problem is 2 colonists wich will be some use still thats why it was an option for me. I took religion for both cb and also I picked christianity first thus had -1 heretic tolerance and +1 true faith.Going for full catholic italy). Thought about humanist too but... I told myself "naaah not this game I am not going for mass conquest I got vassals if I must do someting.
Yea I think I will take a military idea my military feels weak. Either defensive because I am italy and my forts will become God tier with it or I will go for someting that has good policies.
I don't think I will go for plutocratic ideas despite goods production bonus since... I really need a better military if I am going for military idea :D

a)Venetian sea achievement (10 province achievement of Venice if name is wrong)

I found this one to be a pain. I had to be at war with the Ottomans and Mamluks and pretty much fully occupy them both to get that much trade power in both nodes with only 10 cites. I'm pretty sure I had a massive Bulgaria, Byz, and Syria to divert trade. (Also a huge Florence vassal because I was dumb and conquered Italy too).

This one seemed like one of those achievement where you have to sabotage your country so much to get it that you kind of ruin the run after you get it.

I'd probably go offensive over defensive, since good generals can really swing battles and the Siege Ability is always very nice, but Defensive isn't a bad pick either.

I did well in my first Venice game by doing the following:

1) Turn Byzantium and Albania into Marches, then give them all of Greece and the Balkans. You can siphon their trade in the region without owning the land yourself, plus you have two strong militaries adjacent to your land. (Eventually I turned a gutted Hungary into a March and restored it to glory, then added Syria, but Byzantium and Albania are MUCH easier to do from the outset, and third/fourth Marches in the neighborhood were overkill anyway.)

2) Aim to get about 10 strong, nearby OPMs into your trade league. (I found it tougher to keep more than that happy enough to stay.) You get more military power from these.

3) Ideas are up to personal taste; your National Ideas will help you gain Galley supremacy without needing Maritime/Naval Ideas, and after the first victory versus Ottomans, you’ll be untouchable in the Med.

Here’s what my Venice looked like in 1600 (with Silistria involved only because I was thinking about forming Bulgaria as a new vassal):

Suggestion:

(a) conquer the entire Mediterranean basin
(b) once at the appropriate tech level for client states, create backup save file
(c) release vassals, do divert trade
(d) creat client states as needed to get under 10 provinces and divert trade
(e) war decs and occupy provinces as needed for 90%+ trade power if not already achieved

(f) after achievement earned, exit out of game, and resume play from the backup save in (b)
(g) with full control of Mediterranean (not having to reintegrate & etc), continue on with your other goals to conquering Japan & etc
