It is helpful.When you (or another beta tester) posts, it allows the rest of us to understand that the statement is coming from someone who has seen the preliminary version of the game.
We...well...at least I...value beta tester comments and questions here on the forum.
When the game is first out, it is also helpful to know you were a beta tester because you can talk about changes made/tweaks/discussions, etc.![]()
Once the game has been released for several months, then it would be "showing off".

The problem is that the Beta Testers can't actually tell you anything that isn't already been put in the public domain by a Paradox memeber of staff. They are all bound by Non Disclosure agreements. So from that point of view knwoing you are doing business with a beta tester shouldn't actually help you. Once the NDA is lifted then knwoing who the testers are might be helpful. I believe Paradox lifter the NDA for EUII a bit before the game came out, but that was before my time.
