I like the event that rarely fires during war where a province can defect to you. It gives you a chance to either take the land or decline to take the land.

I propose that "peaceful" defection (defection that happens when the player is at peace) should have the same, or a similar, event.

I don't like how you can't decline to take provinces that want to defect to you. It 's fine if you make it all or nothing, but there should be some choice in the matter.

It might give you a border with a third party you can't beat, an ally might decide they want that province so much that you lose the alliance, unaccepted culture (highly unlikely, but whatever).
You might be trying to get Switzerlake in 1.9, and being able to decline a peaceful defection of a province with a port means you don't have to get rid of the province in some other way, or depending on how the achievement is coded, even disallow the achievement for the entire run.
There is precedence for achievements being disallowed by having a condition broken, f.ex. Truly Divine ruler can't be achieved if you have had a ruler with more than 5 in a stat in the run.
