The only tech that changes the game more radically than infra 5 is infra 1. The REAL answer is infra 1, but there's no country that can't reach that very quickly, so it's not easily noticeable.

I think that any poll you make including infra 5 will be pretty uninteresting. I think a better poll would be "besides infra 5, what is the most important tech advance?"

Nearly Agree. Infra 5 most important, land 41 runner up, but land 51 comes 3rd as from that point on you can successfully assault large forts with decent success for that oh so important killing blitz in multi-play.

OK, if Carolus gives us a poll, then I suggest he removes Infra 5 from the alternatives.

But Infra 5 is not what it used to be... Remember when each governor decreased inflation by 1%. That was the times when you had 80-90% inflation when you reached Infra 5 in around 1580 or so. :)

my darkhorse is naval 18 (increased sight range; markedly increases colonization possibilities for explorer-deprived nations)

i like to play tech deprived countries, so these watersheds give you a chance to catch up to the way ahead catholic tech group and stay competitive. even if you have shitty monarachs.

I have to go with Infra 5, followed by Land 5, whereupon you can start assaulting in sieges, reducing the time involved in conquering and annexing minors and pagans.

MP would be a bit different after Infra 5, because being able to monopolize CoT's is very important, as is the ability to do things like build weapons and naval manus and conscription centers/shipyards. I love watching fleets of 1000 ships take each other on in MP. :D
