I would like to see different sorts of interactive objects on battlefields some idea's are;

Items to collect - like resources, mods, technologies or other things.

Neutral units - some may ally with you, against you or have their own agenda. some could be tied up or in a trap and require being freed.

Neutral turrets and vehicles - that can be activated to be used. Or require a ground unit to enter them. Some could act independently and attack the closest unit.

Neutral robots - could have any number of uses when activated or collected.

Healing locations - a Hospital, mechanics bay or vending machine that when activated could heal an adjacent unit.

Trap - a trapped location that could explode, damage or impede any one that activates it or enters its radius.

Shield - provides defence to an area when activated, or is removed when deactivated.

Enhancement location - buffs an adjacent unit when activated.

Some unit skills that enhance Battlefield interactive objects-
Pick lock, detect trap, disarm trap, use machine, reprogram, repurpose, find item, excavate item.

Hi Happyworld,
I'm not quite sure what you mean with "on the battlefield" it sounds like you mean the tactical combat map? But some things like "neutral units that may be allies/enemies or have their own agenda" sound pretty much like the dwelling mechanic that will be on the strategic map (and I think this is where they belong).
Searching and excavating items while you are in combat seems a bit odd, also collecting resources (unless you can use the corpses of your enemies like e.g. corpse looting in AoW3).
I think some of your other ideas are already confirmed or are very similar to what you propose: E.g. You will be able to construct and destroy cover - that sounds a lot like your shield option, there will be cars that can explode if hit and flying units come crashing down on the units below them, it's not exactly "traps" but I guess can be used as such in a way. But constructable "traps" would be pretty cool nonetheless!
Neutral turrets and enhancement/heal spots on the battlefield are really nice ideas too!
I just hope that the fights and the game in general doesn't lose too much of it's "speed" and overcomplicates things in the process of making everything more "in depth"...

Good suggestions @Happyworld and @Fluksen . A reason why we have been careful with environmental battlefield objects and effects is that they are hard to take into account as a player from the worldmap, hard to handle for the AI and will increase the unpredictability of automated battles. Of course PvE exploration sites are better match for them.
