Wouldn't it be nice to have an auto-trade button, so you don't accidentally find that your factories are producing zero stuff because you forgot to continually increase trade every time a new factory or two comes online, or a country has fallen, or a trade path is now blocked?

And if doing that, having a "block" option on nations where you can embargo another nation (them trading with you as one option, your auto-trade with them as another, or both) would be great too. And if you wanted to be really nitty gritty, you embargoing them could give the nation a much reduced time to do a war goal on you.

Thanks!

I just want them to integrate the topbar resources mod into the base game. A notification saying you have a resource shortage is barely any info at all, and forces you to check the production or resources tab to see what you're missing. It could be only telling me that I'm 3 steel short for my convoy production line which I don't care about because it saves me a factory not importing another 8 steel - or I could be -150 tungsten and rubber and not building any tanks or planes.

Being able to see all your resources at the top of the screen all the time is just such a massive improvement.

I find the other direction worse: Importing stuff that you don't need anymore (for example due to changes in trade laws or domestically available resources).
Not importing stuff that you might need is a conscious decision (especially for minors when CIC is a precious resource).
Not importing stuff that you can provide for yourself is a no-brainer (besides maybe some fringe cases in MP).

The former gives you an alert. The latter does not.

Trade in general needs more love. Id really like if you could influence nations to buy FROM you, not just lock down resources for yourself. Its disappointing playing as nations with stockpiles of natural resources, but people never buy from you because of reasons, even though they share your ideology and love you

even something simple like sorting nations by trade influence would be nice.

I suspect that once they get around to the Diplomacy DLC, embargos will be a part of it, which will require trade reworks. I would not be surprised if they revisited this idea at that time
