Part of the current issue with the mid & late game in Stellaris, is that, once surveyed, systems feel dead. There is no longer anything happening in these systems anymore. This seems odd to me, as I find it hard to believe that once you've surveyed a system, nothing new can happen, even if you were only observing the planet for what? 10 days? To this end, I propose a system that might be able to liven up systems a bit more, as well as add more relevance to sensor range and such, which is also an under-used technology.

I propose that a type of anomaly be able to spawn on any already-surveyed planet within sensor range. These kinds of anomaly would be quite rare at first, but have the probability of the event occurring slowly decrease the longer it stays within your sensor range. These anomalies would then need to be investigated by science ships just as regular anomalies would be, and could lead to various events and such as normal. This could make systems feel more alive, and these anomalies could be tied into some of the pre-existing colony events, and perhaps even diplomatic incidents as well. This would encourage larger sensor ranges, as having more systems within sensor range could lead to more events triggering, and as the player gains more territory in the mid-to-late game, they will have more systems covered. As their borders expand, and the game progresses, more anomalies would occur, adding more flavour to the systems within your sight, and hopefully to the galaxy as a whole.

Thoughts?
