Hi.

Just finished my second AoW game and I'm looking for a new challenge. Any achievements
that provide a fun challenge? I'm not really interested in WC or stuff that requires
excessive blobbing. Dealing with revolts instead of enemy states it just tedious
and not my idea fun (even with the new revolt system). The Tabarestan achievable is a good example of a game I enjoy.

Don't restrict yourselves to achievements, any arbitrary goal that provides a decent challenge is what I'm after.

Play as the HRE Emperor (or become Emperor) and get as many Princes as possible. I got up to over 130 as Austria in 1.7, has been one of the silliest and funniest campaigns I ever had (plus it's surprisingly effective, I got world conquest in that campaign).
You'll have to core (and convert if neccessary) the provinces, if you release a nation with its capital being on HRE land it will count as a Prince. You can only add provinces in Europe to the HRE though, but there's still a ton of releaseable nations.

Lithuania --> play as released vassal Smolensk.

Ultimate goal: get those cannons rolling!

Subgoals:
- Conquer all land of Russian culture
- Conquer entire east slavic culture zone
- Humiliate Lithuania (or PLC) by turning it into an ORTHODOX OPM vassal

Extra:
- Get quality and quantity ideas for big amounts of high quality cannons
- Subjugate the Ottomans and make them fight their buddy Crimea
- Dismantle the HRE and sell the land of the last emperor to France for maximum humiliation

-Surviving and expanding as Theodoro was quite enjoyable for me.
-Now that Poland and Brandenburg are lucky nations, the Teutonic Order has a way harder starting position and thus could be challenging as well. They have great NIs to make up for it, though.
-Venice/Genoa->Byzantium is one of my favourite setups. It's not hard at all, but satisfying. At least for me.
-Punjab is nice. Release it from Dehli and found yourself surrounded by hostile muslims. Doesn't work in Ironman, sadly.

That sounds like a blobbing WC game to me. :p Not too interesting.
As I said, only European nations can be added to the HRE. At the height of it I personally held a total of 17 provinces, for the most part it were only 4. In a way it's the oppsite of blobbing, since you try to create as many small nations as possible.

1)Crimea- Stab Poland & Lithuania in the back as many times as possible then stop the Russian hordes. Reform government.
2)Genoa- Overtake Venice as the dominant trade nation in the Mediterranean. Then try to get in on the colonization game.
3)Austria- Try and stop France. Maybe I'm a terrible HRE/Austria player but I've always found this really hard.
4)Hansa- North german trade domination then colonize.
5)Mamluks- Terrorize the Mediterranean, hold off the ottomans, and colonize east Africa.

Take Tlaxcala and beat up the Aztecs, leading their fierce rival to complete victory.

Or take the Mapuche and withstand the Europeans without westernizing.

Conquer Africa as the warrior queen of Zazzau or as the King of Kong.

Create the German Empire in India ( look at Nagaur's flag).

Or take that OPM vassal khanate North of Tibet and achieve anything.

Survive and thrive as Tver/Ryazan?
Ironically, in my current Bohemia game, when I really want a useful Muscovy as a counterweight and ally against Poland and Lithuania, Ryazan is absolutely thrashing them.

Muscovy keeps attacking Novgorod, losing the war, and Ryazan jumps on them and grabs one or two provinces. A while later, repeat. So now on the far side of Lithuania I have three relatively weak Russian states that would be useless as allies instead of a single strong and valuable one. >_<

Play as a European country and try to create modern Europe's borders as closely as possible using vassals. You'll want to implement HRE reforms for unlimited HRE vassals. Marches and client states will also be quite useful. Austria is probably easiest, but harder starts are possible.

Its good to be the king: Control only your capital directly, everything else is controlled by vassals, at the same time make vassals pay as much tax to you as possible and see how far you can take it.

Even though I still haven't actually done it, I always recommend conquering Iberia as Sibir. Because.....Iberia and.......irony.

I also like conquering the French Region as Dai Viet.

Conquer all of North America as Iraq.

Conquer all of Great Britain as Hindustan.

Conquer the Russian region as Afghanistan.

I could go on.....
