Now there is anouncement for Armageddon booster pack..

It is obviously a major improvement product so it will be nice to send them some toughts about modest(realistic,not HOI III ideas) fixes that could be done.

My proposal.

1.Slightly increased air an sea defence of submarines.

2.Fixed Spain Civil war,becouse widely accepted conclusion is that Nat Sp/Rep.Sp. probability of winning wars is currently 20/80.It should be fixed to be at least 50/50,or even in favour of historical outcome.There is allso no consensus why is this so now?

3.Increased Old Guard retirement,espetialy for Germany that is allmost paralised in terms of automatic promotion of younger generals,becouse of more than dosen Old Guard-s.

4.Change of German Haevy tank brigade(HARM brigade) model 1 to be Pzkw IV(short 75mm gun) as this will be historical.In early war PzkW IV was used(and constructed actualy) for cracking "hot spots"and was classified early in war as"heavy tank".Only after failing of model III in fight with T 34,Model IV become main battle tank.So there is no"historic" logic in current german HARM 1 brigade model.

5.No need for extra(hipothetic) scenarios except historical ones.
-This game is enough interesting by itself becouse of replayability for many times.So some egzotic scenarios are not so important.What is more important are core improvements,and some promising are allredy mentionedin anaouncement of Armageddon.
So I would like to see some historical scenarios:Example-Kursk,Norway,Balcans,Krete,Torch

I don't know if these are outlandish desires or not, but I figured this would be a good place to post my suggestions for the booster pack. Besides some bug fixes and the ability to build units with the brigades attached (which Armageddon will do) I've always wanted:

Hotkeys for building radar stations, nuke reactors, Rocket test sites, naval bases and airbases in provinces.

A way to keep my stack of nine units moving together as one army while each unit is commanded by a different leader.

A way to automate diplomacy and espionage. For example I'd like to be able to give orders for the foreign ministry to keep influencing Turkey till we reach relations level X, run out of money, or reach date X.

History logs for air commanders just like every other type of leader

I'd also like to be able to place down multiple new units at a time rather than tediously clicking on each one and on the province I want to place them.

2 small adjustments/fixes I'd like to see

1. Fix the sprites - so that all of the types can have their own sprites associated with them - particularly the bombers (currently nav/tac/str etc share one sprite)

2. Allow more than 10 models per type.

And a larger enhancement

3. Allow music/video to be triggered in events

Add new leader traits for air and naval commanders, for example:

NAVAL

* ASW specialist
* Carrier warfare master
* Battleship commander
* Logistics Wizard

AIR

* Logistics Wizard
* Weather specialist
* Survivalist

YES!!

And allow all unit types to have different sprites for different models! For example, make it possible to have different sprites for a level 1 and a lv 2 German tank.

I would like to see a nation's beligerance (sp) directly linked to the size of it's blue water navy. Hell, you could even link it to Army, navy and airforce. This would make a player consider whether he should improve his industry and infrastructure or spam out hundreds of inf in the early years.

I think this should be particularly linked to the Navy, afterall Britain has historically been a very belligerent nation simply because it's navy allowed it to export power. We are seeing a similar thing in the modern world with the USA and it's belligerent actions.

It would also be good to have naval areas which belong to a country, such that if you park a sail down the Thames with a German BB at the moment, there is no penalty, whereas in real life, it would probably constitute a declaration of war. The same should also go for stationing lots of troops in border provinces, if Germany stacks 90+ divisions on the polish border, it's pretty clear what their intentions are.

I want MORE EVENTS!!

I love events in the original game! Sadly, Doomsday added very few new of those. I would like to see lots of new events after 1945. It would also be interesting with more events for the minor nations. Surely, SOMETHING interesting must have happened even in those countries in this period. For example, what about possible event triggers that make countries like Sweden, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Turkey to enter the war for various factions? There should definietly be more events for Nationalist Spain!!

Create bonuses in all land doctrine paths so that the TD and the SPRArt brigades are actually worth building. Currently those 2 are wastes of space.

Special forces units with new abilities in battle could replace them.. here's a proposed list of traits..

*increased rate of org drop of enemy forces
*chance of not all enemy units in attack / defense showing up at the actual battle
*all enemy units out of supply in battle

Name all units for all countries.. just pick something plausible, it doesn't have to be 100% accurate. For example, every country could list the South African G6 155mm as its modern artillery piece. When I take over the world with Italy, I still want to be using actual pieces of hardware, not a unit named "Really Advanced Turbojet Thingy."

Multiple brigades on land units - like you originally mentioned for Doomsday ;)

As the air units get newer, they should lose progressively less org to rebase. It's frustrating to watch the advanced turbojets have to wait an entire month after rebasing from sicily to marseilles. An inflight refueling technology research sequence could be created to accomplish this.

The new patch has me starting to play DD again but this is the first I have heard another expansion is in the works. Outstanding!

If Paradox is reading, my list of improvements would include the following:

1. A major overhaul of the AI is probably out of the question but improvements in specific areas may be possible. I think the most pressing area for improvement is the AI's misuse of air power. After the initial air clashes at the start of the war the AI does not adjust if it is losing. Rework the AI so it does not send air units out on useless missions (i.e. bombing entrenched ground units across the English Channel). The correlary to this is having the AI find smart missions to send its air on (this may be harder but at least try to save them as a air fleet-in-being, if nothing else). When units do become damaged ensure they stay on the ground long enough to be adequately repaired. I have seen too many instances of AI bombers flying missions again and again with almost no strength until they are eventually destroyed. Finally, ensure they go out in large enough groups so they do not get chewed up by large packs of enemy INTs. Perhaps some minimum strength to send into a region in reaction to observed enemy air (the higher the enemy air the higher the minimum until the region is avoided altogether).

2. Rework air attacks to have greater strength loses. Currently, air units take very little strength loses during attacks, especially on naval attacks, and the organization loses have no effect of their effectiveness as long as it is above their minimum. Air power is perceived by many as overpowered but this would be alleviated if air units took greater strength loses against effective air defenses. This may also make if worthwhile to build mobile and static AA and have air cover (CVs or land-based) and CL screens for naval units within range of land-based air.

3. When airfields are attacked, have the air units stationed there take loses. Otherwise, a smart human or AI player should never lose and air unit. The Germans during opening phase of Barbarossa destroyed huge numbers of planes on the ground and that is impossible to simulate currently. Tied with suggestion #2, it will demand greater defenses for airfields.

4. Intelligence is usually a waste of time currently. The only things you can count on is a lot less money and a lot worse relations. Lower the relation hits for the more mundane spy actions (sending spies, stealing blueprints, etc.). Additionally, increase the usefulness of the intelligence gathered by spies. The original HOI2 had the army/navy/airforces comparisons charts. These provided perfect intelligence but was unrealistic (though fun to watch to see the enemies forces dwindle to nothing). DD still has the charts but only for those in your alliance. Spies provide rough assessments but they are vague and almost always grossly inaccurate even with 10 spies in the country and only seen on individual country intel pages. Tie the spies' intelligence into the comparison charts and color code them for accuracy. The highest accuracy should be very close to the actual numbers (0-10%) and would include the current breakdown by individual unit type. This would make the intelligence more actionable (i.e. if I know the enemy has airborne divisions my coastal defenses will change) and would make spies be more useful, if just for the intel. Tie the amount of spies with the size of the country for intel accuracy. 10 spies in the USA may be needed to gather accurate data but 2 or 3 would suffice for a much smaller country, like Cuba (and who wants to waste lots of money sending lots of spies to all the little counties in an enemy alliance). Some level of automation is needed also (I know, kick that dead horse).

5. I would like to see a bit more differentiation between different nation's individual ground units (Germany has strong armor, the USA superior Mech, etc.). Land docrines do modify specific units build costs but the combat effects are applicable to every ground unit (i.e. breakthrough, assault, etc chances or all land unit max morale increases). Add additional research that would benefit specific unit types (armor, infantry, specific brigades, etc.). It could be doctrinal and/or equipment research. Also, if there were too many to completely research a country would have to prioritize only certain paths. This combined with the current land doctrine pathes would give a unique feel to a country's armies.

6. Finally, modify the land brigades to make more of them smart to build in a manpower and IC sense. Most players only build a few of the brigades, unless they are going for a historic feel. The easiest way would be to lower their build cost or time to a point where it would be better to brigade a unit as opposed to building more unbrigaded ones (and not just for high cost units). Increasing individual brigade stats would be possible also but would require more balancing. Then if a player chose to limit his research requirements by forgoing many of the brigades it would come at the expense of combat effectiveness.

Lots of these have already been discussed thoroughly in the past but it is always goods to rehash them if the developers are now starting to work on a major upgrade.

Since this game is obviously going to go the path of ahistory, here are some almost-but-not projects the Luftwaffe was dabbling in.

The Amerika Bomber project.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amerika_Bomber

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siebel_Si_204 (Space rocket bomber - which interested both allied and soviets. Vital theoretical groundwork for the space program. Far-out alternative to ICBMs, if proper materials are researched.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horten_Ho_XVIII (The long range stealth bomber.)

Jäger-Notprogramm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horten_Ho_229

(Ever wondered who came up with the B-2 stealth bomber design they started using in the 1980s? Well now you know. )

Other sciences: Sputnik satellite. (X vp, research bonus or applied technology?) Moon program. (XX vp? Major research bonus? Applied technology?) (Given one scenario will last until 1960, the luna project succeeded in 1959 to bringing back pictures of the far side of it.)

PLEASE include something like a Civilopedia for HoI2! The game is so complex, and the manual only cover the basics. It would also add historical flavor and educational purpose to the game.

The tech tree is especially in need of more information. HoI1 had well-written texts about the different techs. HoI2 has nothing!! :mad: For each tech, please include a brief description of the new features, the historical background and significance for it and so on...

If the allies liberate Europe, more events are needed:

1) Capitals need to be relocated from colonies to Europe.

2) Some events would be appropriate for disarming nations who have large wartime forces which will be be unsupportable in peace

3) Cold war turns hot flavour events would be good, and the build priorities of countries like East and West Germany should be improved.

The bitter peace event

Axis minors like Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary if Finland is in the Axis they deserve a small piece of the war loot. Even Axis Poland Can have a small part of the bitter peace.
At least let the axis Poland give the land to Germany after the victory!
It’s so silly that a territory conquered by an axis minor shall go back to Soviet as a controlled province! Italy doesn’t get any ting of the bitter peace maybe its difficult to add Italy to the bitter peace event but the cud give the territory Germany instead of giving back to the Soviet!
That’s my finale word about the bitter peace no more nation needs to get involved.

More tips from the old post what would you like to see in the 1.3..patch

Where did you get this from ?

The PzKw IV was at first listed as a medium support tank, it was never designed or listed as a heavy tank. PzKw IV were an organic part of almost every German Panzer-division, it wasn't used by independent armoured units. It also wasn't used for cracking 'hot spots'. The PzkW IV was designed to use its gun against infantry and AT-guns, using its short 75mm gun to fire HE-shells. The PzkW IV was just a bit heavier (1 to 3 tons) then a Pzkw III, so this also doesn't qualify him as a heavy tank.

Heavy tanks were used as independent support units for breakthrough operations, the PzkW IV was never used that way.

The only heavy tank the Germans had early in the war was the Neubaufahrzeug, of which just a few prototypes were built

-----------------------------------------------------------

EDIT
What I really would like to see in Armageddon is the event command to change flags, so that when my country turns from say democratic to communist its flag will change to
