Sudden huge drop in trade income?

While playing as Byzantium, for whatever reason, the income in my main trade node, Constantinople, has dropped massively in the last year or so, from 140 ducats to about 90. There doesn't seem to have been any changes to my trade efficiency, steering, or whatever. The huge drop seems to have happened for no reason. Is this a regular occurrence?
I'm currently transferring trade in Alexandria.
Its probably worth mentioning that this happened right after I finished a major war on the continent.

As far as i can tell, you'll get a huge trade bonus if you are ahead of time in diplo-tech.

Do you have overextension? That's probably your problem right there, your trade power will fall off a cliff. Once you've cored your provinces, it should be fine again.

Income can go up by a lot during wars if you're occupying enough provinces, since the income and trade power that would normally be your enemy's is controlled by you. Once the war's over and those provinces go back to their original owner, your income drops.

I also bet on Over-extension. It reduces your trade income a lot.
