Ok,
you are my last hope.
I really enjoyed playing EU3 In Nomine. I have played 3 games with Castille/Spain and did quite well untill the 1 january 1670.
At this date, no matter what, my prestige is starting to sink fast, faster that fast. I ended the year 1669 with +97 in prestige, but as soon as the new years bell rings, it goes down to negative and goes to -99 around May 1670. Yep that is -200 prestige points in 5 months.
The first time, i thought it was a flawed save games, so i deleted them all and started a brand new game.
The second time, i thought my game was corrupt so i deleted every traces of my game from my computer, tries with a brand new game (new CD) and felt secured.
Now it is the thrid game that has to end in 1669, and it is unplayable after january 1670. Not only does the prestige go down to -99, but it stays there, no matter what!!!!!!
I am/was the emperor, head of the curie, with a +1 philosopher, the idea that gives +2 prestige, no core to claim...basically i should gain prestige ervery year; no i did not betray any ally, nor am i a Badboy...

Has anyone had this experiance/bug ?
Is there any thing to do that could overpass this date ?

Thanks for any help.
A very frustrated player.

Around that time countries that have bad relations with the Emperor start to leave the HRE and every one that leaves gives the Emperor a prestige hit.

@Mizar,
yes i am playing with In nomine 1.3

I am the Emperor,
would this justify a -200 prestige points in a matter of months ? It would be unfair i had been a very nice emperor...lol;
But even after such a demise, once they left, the prestige should behave normally, which is not the case as i am stuck with -99 no matter what!
Anyway thanks for your posts

You mean 3.1? There is a 3.2 available for In Nomine (not savegame-compatible with 3.1 though).

The prestige hit is 5 per province. It could take a while for all of them to leave that want to. They won't leave if your relations are above zero and catholic germans also won't leave.
(See the leave_hre decision in decisions\HRE.txt )

This could be an explanation, though it is funny that i don't get any message of an event saying "HRE is getting is getting apart" or something.
I have just checked : out of the 31 members, 18 are not quite happy and all of them except one are indeed protestant or reformed.
So even then i guess it would be a prestige hit of 5 o year ! not a month. And i also guess that it would be mention in the prestige summery at the top, let's say "members of the HRE leaving -90" or so.
Even -90 a year could not drag me from +97 to -99 in 4 or 5 months, could it?

I really appreciate your concern
thanks

It's per province so 40 provinces leaving would give -200 change in prestige.

What the fuck ! Can't you abdicate as bloody emperor?
Quickest way to lose it would be to change to a republic since republics can't be emperor; then as long as you have bad relations with electors you could change back to a monarchy.
But still is it normal not to be warned ? That there is no indication whatsoever of what is happening ?
Yes since it is just a decision enacted by the province owner. You could set your message settings so that you can see all decisions from all countries at least in the log. There are a few things in the game like this; if you don't know it's coming you may get annoyed that there was no notification but once you know this exists you can plan ahead and it isn't such a problem. Just make sure you keep relations above zero with all non-catholic HRE members and it won't happen.

Just a last question:
Is there a way to edit the "the leave_hre decision in decisions\HRE.txt " ? If yes, where do i find it ?
It's in the decisions folder in the file HRE.txt.:)
If you need help on how to modify it that would be a question for the mod forum; you'd need to register your game to post there.
