I've a question on succession mecanisms.

Let's say I'm the Duke of Aquitaine, my liege is the King of France. I married my son and heir to the Duchess of Provence, whose liege is the HRE.

Is it posible to inherit the Duchy of Provence AND remain in the Kingdom of France? For instance, my son has a son. I (the grand-father) die, so my son, married to the Dushess, inherits all I have. Then my son dies. His son should get everything from him. But will he be part of the HRE (as he should still be by now), or will he become a vassal of France ?

I think that it depends on what territory he inherits first, if it is the HRE first then after inheriting the French terrorities is liege will be the HRE, while the king of France will be his liege if he gets the duchy of Aquitaine first.

IRL he'd be simultaneously vassals of both, like the Norman Kings of England owning their kingdom in their own name but their Norman and French territories as vassals of the King of France. One of the complexities CK2 has removed (probably a good thing).
