Are you one of those people who thinks their pc will blow up the moment they turn off their antivirus for 2 seconds? :p Norton is notorious for false alerts; it's just a fileshare site, nothing unseemly about it (other than the popup that it always seems to open).

--Posting from the Finnish woods after cycling 70 km today... Mostly on sand roads though, otherwise could've easily covered 100. The reason I went for backroads is Finnish roads and Finnish drivers... When it is my turn and I've returned, I will design a comprehensive cycling network for our city. Car owners will become 2nd class citizens, and their tax percent will be raised to 80 %... They'll be forced to wear sleeves that say: 'POLLUTER AND A MENACE TO CYCLING CITIZENS'! :D

So, you're basically creating the Netherlands besides the sleeves. :D

Note to everyone: if you install a rain mod in our game, I will burn your house down (why might that be, hm? It wouldn't have anything to do with the Finnish weather, would it now? :p).

For the record: Traffic++ will introduce cyclists in the next few weeks (could be just animations, but still). Also, they have managed to make cars use all lanes on 6-lane roads (!!), while halving the slowdown effect that their mod has on the game (it will be barely different from the vanilla game)! --Baring this in mind, I will effect sweeping changes across the city, using it as a proving ground for Metropolis (the name of the city in our next SG). Mainly to test out cycling ideas, since you can't really test for the other improvements. @ItalianGuy: if you want to, you can already begin this experiment; the idea is that in principle, you can walk/cycle from anywhere to anywhere in the city, without crossing paths with a single car. :) I likely won't accomplish this ideal in our current city, but if we take this as a guiding principle for Metropolis, it just might be doable (especially if T++ adds some goodies to support this).

First thing we need to do is banning cars from all roads
Motion supported! :) (Actually with the traffic controls of T++, this is sort of doable -- you'll still need some dedicated roads for truck traffic, and service vehicles will have to weave their way through the pedestrians; but it should be possible as long as you have a good road layout. It's a real pity about the road graphic changing when you zoom out though... Ugh! -.- I'd use the regular roads for this and just limit their traffic, but then the pedestrians will only use the sidewalks and crossings, even though there are no cars on the road to worry about.)

--I have returned from the woods now, and have my good computer. The game seems to have stalled again, as Calad said he'd be playing on Wed/Thursday, and it is now Saturday already. He probably got caught up in holiday stuff and either forgot about the game or didn't have the time to play/post the save. He has a week to play though, so let's just wait. In the meantime I will try to create the perfect cycling paradise... I might post some screenshots if I can come up with some good designs.

I wanted to do an experiment too: a very slowly growing city that starts as a tiny village with dirt roads, very small houses and shops, and grows organically like an historical euro city with an old town in its core :D

EDIT: Maybe I'll do a city journal

Ok, ty for letting us know. @ItalianGuy: that means you're up then. With your lightning-fast turnsets so far, maybe we can get this show back on the road (so to speak). :)

As for using Traffic++, didn't Myquandro try it out and had some problems with it? Maybe you can try to use it and see how the game reacts to it, then go back if there's undue complications.

I did try Traffic++ in one of my own existing cities and had some problem with that. We then said that we should not use it with this city and only with new cities.

And the last turn played was me I think, that was finished at June 6th, so 20 days ago.
