EDIT: One other thing: although 'logistically' it makes no sense to build anything but hi-rises in a city, I'd prefer if we preserved some areas as 'low density' Residential and Commercial. Imo it looks much better if a city has both dense, hi-rise 'urban' areas and suburban, 'detached' houses. (It is a problem though that as the low density buildings level up, they tend to become 'mid-rises', worst of both worlds imo. Unless there is a mod for this it can't be helped though).
High rise ban policy prevents any building type to reach level 5, even low density houses. There is also a mod to micro manage custom bans: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=410535198

So, I'm aware it has now been 7 days, if you want I can pass on the save now, or I can continue playing a couple of days until I'm done. I have no objections if you want me to turn over the save, it is completly reasonable.

I think I'm confused/don't understand.
Each player is playing only 2 years? Or is it some other length of time?

The way I understand it is that he has played for about 1,5 years in game time and can complete his 2 years in about 2 days.

Ok well um. How could it take 7 days to play just a year and a half? What is that like playing 5 minutes a day? I finished my 2 years in about 2 hours. How could it take that long? That is just far too long. Does he not know others are waiting to play? If one does not have the time to finish a very short 2 years in a day or two why bother playing this type of game? This makes no sense at all to me.

Thanks a lot. In fact, I have played as much as my computer has allowed, and Sunday I came down with a virus, and today is my birthday. That is the reason for the delay. I'm sorry it is taking this long, but when (if) I play again, I will not take as long.

So I have finished my 2 Years as Lord High Mayor of Heavenly Falls, 2024-26, (sort of, I noticed it was nearly the end of November, and thought, "Oh, this is nearly it. I'd better finish up.", finished up, and provided water to a expansion, and it was 2/12, but I only noticed the 2/, and thought I had played till 2/1, so you get a extra month.)

Journal will follow in the next couple of days (once I have written it,) and if you wouldn't mind telling me how to upload the save to the hosting site, I'd be grateful.

Tinyupload is a good file upload site (discovered it thanks to this thread). Has an annoying pop-up though, but nothing you can't ignore.

Imo, if anything we should be grateful that Spockyt's had the patience to finish his turn. I know I'd bail out with computer problems like that.
We already lost one player's turn, so I for one don't want to lose any more. Looking forward to your report Spockyt. :)

@ItalianGuy: Ah, of course! Forgot all about the hi-rise ban policy. One of those regular mayoral mishaps; it's only been adopted in 284 cities, and was featured on the cover of 'Mayor Weekly' last month. But with all this coke and hook--, err, *civic duties*, one can hardly spare a thought for such trivial matters. :p (Btw thanks for that mod link; my cities will look much nicer as a result, once I get to building some in sp! :))

@ Everyone: There's some good news in that I now have access to my regular computer... However, this is not my usual apartment, so I have no internet here as of yet. I discovered that I can use my phone's connetion on a tabletop computer, too -- while it's a bit spotty, I should be able to download the save and play my turn, should it come up before the 25th (which is when I finally get this rig back to where it belongs).

@Calad: If you're not too busy, I think I speak for many of us in saying that we'd appreciate you popping over in the thread to clarify a few issues (namely, which additonal mods will we use for the next round, if any, and whether we'll change the time allotted for each player (2 years --> 1 year)?).
EDIT: And a 'got it!' would be nice, since it will be your turn once Spockyt uploads the save. :)

Tinyupload can take files of up to 50 Mb, so unless the save has grown a lot (it was 10 Mb the last time I played), there should be no need for compression quite yet.

7z is fine in case it does need to be compressed. --I guess that huge save files are the downside to including the map in the save itself... I still prefer it this way though.

Is 7z a compression or a programm to compress? I've never heard of it and have only seen .rar or .zip
If 7z is a compression then I'm not sure I can work with that.

It's what 7Zip uses. Best program for file compression, imo, since it can open all other formats (well, matbe not *all*, but I've never run into a file it couldn't open). It's very easy to use, so just dl if someone decides to use 7z.

To use a Mac for gaming is a bit like using a bear for riding a motorcycle. You can do it, but you might get mauled in the process, not to mention crash 'n burn.

Let's just hope it doesn't need compression... And agree to use WinZip if it does (since you say you can open .zip files? Isn't it illogical that *Win*Zip *does* work on a Mac? :p).

I do have a gaming PC for about 1,5 weeks now, but as I'm still buying all the appropriate peripherals I can only properly play racing games (as I don't need a desk for it). Within a few weeks I should have a nice monitor on my desk with a proper keyboard and other stuff to play games on the Windows PC (solving few of the problems I have on Mac).

On the other hand, playing Cities Skylines on Mac is absolutely no problem. Just using Steam, installing game and playing. It's as easy as on Windows and with a GTX680MX it's no problem to play a lot of games on high settings (probably the newest FPS would have problems).
