Playing as doux of Karvuna (gavelkind succession), my wife inherits the duchy of Dalmatia as well as the county of Split. All is well until my second son is born, strangely my first son, who was to inherit the duchy and county of Karvuna, is set to inherit my wife's holdings and the younger brother becomes my new heir. Changing to primogeniture had no effect on succession. While this didn't break my game it did irritate me enough to quit playing my session. Has anyone experienced something like this?

I think this is the bug where your wife has higher status than you, and your first son is her heir then, and your heir is the second son.

Well, the only thing which bugs me in this case is that is shouldn't happen regardless of the bug, as doux = duke and thus you and your wife are on the same level...

Isn't the Duchy of Dalmatia in Croatia? If so they may have High or Absolute CA, if so lands cannot be inherited outside of the Croatian Realm meaning your sons will split inheritances.

Could be wrong just thought Dalmatia is in Croatia in game...apologize if I am incorrect in assuming that :p
