Succession and the wife

Morning all, just trying to get my head around some the succession laws in the game.

I have worked my way up to being the king of Pitcland and have killed enough people to allow my wife to be the queen of Mercia. We have got 3 sons, the eldest being 7 and the other two are 1 (twins).

Am I right in working this out, in order for Merica to become part of Pictland is to kill the wife, then the eldest son inherits the crown and i raise the Pictish banner of one my infant son's and invade?

You do not need to kill your wife.
Eventually your wife and you die normally. And then your eldest son inherits both. (assuming you both have succession that lets the eldest son inherit).

If you were to press a claim on a kingdom for someone else, while you are a king, that other person will NOT become your vassal, because a King can not be a vassal to a king. (unless you mean petty Kingdom of mercia, which is a Duchy)

I understood the whole me dying the wife dying but im far to impatient.

It is the petty kingdom and Merica, so my plan should work?

Well if you're impatient enough to kill your wife, yes it works. You still don't need to push your own eldest son and heir off the throne though. Just land your own eldest son, and after he inherits the duchy, he'll stay your vassal.
