"successful" crusades that are in fact unsuccessful

Two times I've seen the pope declare a crusade for Jerusalem that is proclaimed successful (once by Genoa, the other by Sweden) but in reality the Fatamids or their successor dynasties still control most of the Holy land. I won a crusade 100 years ago as England, but lost everything except the holdings in the county of Jerusalem. At the moment 3 out of 5 holdings in Jerusalem are held by English now British vassals including the Bishopric of Jerusalem whilst the county itself is ruled by a Fatamid successor dynasty with the supposed victors owning nothing.

Crusades that end inconclusively still display the victory text.

I had just mended the Great Schism and the Pope and Croatia were the only two influential nations still participating in a crusade for Aragon. I already had Rome and Orvieto, and started a de jure war for Orbetello. When I won, the crusade ended (the pope became unlanded), but I still got the message that the king of Croatia had won the crusade. Everything remained the same.
