Hi all, First post so here goes.

I am currently looking for a way to upgrade subway stations if possible. Early on in a game I can only afford single station with 2 tracks but would like to upgrade to 4 track station. The only way possible to do it so far is to demolish existing station or add a station alongside it when possible. Its a real pain to do as I have to delete lines and reinstate them but then I get left with loads of angry citizens.

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade or give any advice.

As far as I know, there is no way to upgrade metro stations.

However, you don't need to delete the lines. Just remove the station from the line(s) and you can then demolish it. I'm not sure if the lines are properly routed after you have rebuilt and reconnected the tracks. What I often do in those cases, I first lay a temporarily track so that the lines are closed while demolishing and rebuilding. Then, when I am done with the new structure, I demolish the temporary track.

Yes, it costs some money, but then again you don't have to delete lines.

This solution worked well. Just hope that paradox can release an update in the future as I tend to only build subways in my games as I find that the revenue streams are poor with all other transport options as well as constant problems with traffic and passenger numbers.

The question is how that would work..
When I build a new subwaystation I normaly change a little in the lines to get the mto the right plattform.
And get the work to change the tunnels so they are at the right level and that Ain´t something that would be done simulatanus.

When I think about it now it should be possible to upgrade a station that am buil to either level one or three if you make it a cross, and maybe to all if you have it to dubbleplattform

The way I could see an station upgrade workable would be to just add additional lines and platforms to the existing station without editing/deleating existing lines. This would allow me to add the new track for the new lines and then edit existing lines if required. It would be a cool option if we could add additional platforms by selecting an "add platform" button and then position and place where required provided there is space.

I like your suggestion with regards to platforms at diffrent depth levels. This would allow for upto 6 platforms and tracks per station and in my view should be the simplest to intergrate into the game.

I hope my explanation makes sense as it can be difficault to explain, lol.

Hopefully they'll give us a couple of New York Transit vehicles. :) It looks like it will be a "night" map. It wouldn't be so bad if they had the stations illuminated. That's why I hardly play the Tokyo map because the stations are too dark.

If a "New York" city does come then we will definately need bigger subway stations that support 6 tracks/platforms as I would attempt to replicate the real network.

YAY! NYC DLC! I'm so going to buy this. Can I add it to my steam wishlist or preorder it?


There is yet to be any concrete information so there is no pre-order or DLC. We will soon find out though, However the NYC pack is just speculation at this stage and has not been confirmed.:rolleyes:

Unsure yet if it will be a free upgrade or a paid for DLC.
