Thank you for that, I will try to update it to something better.

I will probably compromise and go with the 1250 version, but well see. The 800 version seems so drastically different and none of the maps I have seen depict it like that.

Why dont you use a map from the end year of the Game as a reference? Only include those county's .

Create your own counties based on population , you split a region to counties based on population . Literally changing the political map during your game !

Can remove the county's that dont belong in the time frame of the game. The Makers of HIP have counties in there that were not county's until the mid 1800s. And some the districts they made county's your holdings are suppose to be the actual districts? This is map really good. Just as long as you leave out all the straights expect form Greece to Anatolia.

I think you're
1) crying at wrong grave, since Marinakis didn't make SWMH map. If there's something you dislike about SWMH, you should point it in SWMH map thread, not here.
2) wrong - The objective of SWMH map is right the oposite. If possible, they were eliminating the late/modern provinces and replaced them with historical ones. Or do you have some particular 19th century place in mind which was introduced by SWMH(HIP) map makers?

Alright, guys, finished the terrain file and updated some of the provinces/positions. I am pretty happy with how pretty this map is turning out. If you have any suggestions for province/boarder updates, please feel free to reply to the thread or private message me.

I can make a flat version , that would only take a couple minutes. I'll look into to tonight.

The map should be compatible with anything from HIP, my mod is all cosmetic.

@Marinakis Played a few hours with the new map. It really makes a difference.
All good so far except a possible bug report. 1066 start, when I click on the county of Salerno's emblem (Sicily) my camera automatically goes to the end of map near Africa. Also Principato is missing from the DeJure county setup of Salerno and the though the kingdom's panel say it exists, the setup is wrong. Any way for me to quickfix this ???

Love the map, I've always been in favor of aesthetic borders following natural topography. Made a similar submod once.

Kingdom of Connachta (Ireland) 1066 is mixed with Kingdom of Breifne. Connacthta's city of Gailimh also needs your attention,it does that thing with the map turning to Africa again.

Fixed. I'll release an updated beta soon (I'll try to have it out tomorrow), I made a few corrections and updates to the provinces and positions files

At a glance, is the Aral Sea in your map shown how it was in the 1980's rather than 800 years ago (or even 70 years ago before the Soviets started destroying it)?
